I genuinely mean it was a great strategy. I mean, it’s kind of a bitch move but it worked. AD and Lebron shot more free throws than the entire Nuggets team.

Based on Malone’s comments after the game I don’t think they did. But they certainly didn’t launch a media campaign to put pressure on the refs.

And in a bad game by Jokic’s standards in which Gary Harris missed everything, and AD and Lebron shot more free throws than the entire Nuggets team the Lakers could never bury the Nuggets.

And why would I cry? This was a measuring stick series for the Nuggets. And the Nuggets scared the Lakers bad enough they had to contact the NBA and launch a media campaign about Lebron not shooting enough free throws and they’ve played the Lakers close twice and beat them handily in one game.

Either the Lakers aren’t as good as advertised or the Nuggets are better. But the gap between them isn’t as big as people thought it was. And Jokic and Murray haven’t hit their primes and MPJ is a rookie that still does head scratching rookie things. The future is bright and I’m higher on them than I was before.

I wouldn't call Game 3 a "resounding" win, they nearly choked away a 20 point lead in the 4th quarter.

The officiating IS trash. Both ways. They've been doing this all bubble long. I watched the seeding games very closely. Its obvious. You'll never get a solid smooth 3-5 minute stretch of uninterrupted game play.

Nuggets got some makeup calls when the game was nearly out of reach but the no call when LeBron clearly bodied (and blocked) Murray that led to a quick Laker transition 2 was the 4 point swing that sealed the victory more or less.
That hurt.

It's the WCF and the Nuggets beat the presumptive favourite just to get here. Everyone knows theyre good. Besides game 1, they had chances to win every other game. Lakers either out big shotted them (AD vs Jokic in game 2) or just closed better in game 4. Both games coulda easily went the other way

I’m not coping or emotional. In fact, I’m so rational that I looked up Lebron’s advanced stats for the first four games—and only 19 of his 72 shots were driving shots. https://stats.nba.com/player/2544/sh...mID=1610612743

And the officiating is always bad in the NBA and calls are missed on both sides. But when two guys are shooting more free throws than an entire team and you’re giving James Harden—I mean Anthony Davis free throws every time he falls down and screams even in crunch time while you’re letting em play when Lebron is fouling on defense on the other end, you’re tilting things in one direction.

And that shouldn’t be surprising anyone who has watched basketball knows on the whole there is going to be an officiating bias towards the Lakers. Anthony Davis wasn’t getting the Harden calls in New Orleans, for example.
