For those who got snipped - how long recovery?

I'm taking the bullets out of the gun late next month. I'm assuming a full week off with no major activity whatsoever is key. It will be a month out from a GORUCK endurance event I have planned though - think carrying backpacks over long distances, CrossFit-style workouts, and carrying heavy sandbags/logs/each other. I'm thinking a full week off (Friday surgery, off until the next Sunday so about 9 full days), then back to PT as normal. Usual schedule is 5 major days per week (currently usually 3-4 are circuit training style, 1-2 long endurance days, one easy cardio/mobility day, one full day off). Is this a realistic expectation?

You timeline will be shorter than you think, but depends on which procedure ...two cuts or one

"Scapel free" procedure. Done on friday. Lifted light next week. Back to full heavy weight following up after that.

No issues.

I struggled with lifts off floor for a few weeks. In general your plan seems sensible OP.

I have a scalpel free procedure years ago, I never missed work, and was back exercising after only 1 day of rest.

I don't feel too bad now after reading the responses. Except that theater procedure.. as if that isn't awkward enough with just the doctor.

Recovery was fast but I couldn't creampie without BC for like two months. Kept failing the 'after' test.

Also, when they tell you not to have sex for a certain number of days afterwards--be sure to heed their advice.

Depends on the procedure.

But scalpal free you'll not notice a great deal.

I've done one laproscopicaly and that was a journey to finish, and pt required significant time to recover.

Trust your urologist though as they will have done literally thousands of them.

Got it done today. Not as bad as I thought but my hips are sore. Not sure if it’s because I did 300 four count flutterkicks yesterday or just because of the procedure though. Anyone else feel that way? Otherwise I feel relatively mobile.

I don't recall my hips being sore, but I recall my FIL laughing as I got out of the truck I walked like I had been on a horse for a whole day. They had watched our two kids while my wife drove me to the procedure. In retrospect, I'm sure I looked funny walking

Mine was long before scalpel free was a thing. Both times.

They missed a spot. I have two extra grandchildren to prove it! They got it the second time, though.

My oldest just turned 11, my youngest son turns 9 by the end of the month, and my daughter is 3 months. One guess as to why I got it done.
