Question Swimming bad for regeneration ?

Hey, i have a question. Im bulking, trying to build some muscle. I do 2x per week cardio for overall health and better feeling. I dont do one type of cardio, i do cycling, running, rope jumping, just trying to have some variety of it. I decided to go swim today, so i went to the near lake and i was swimming breaststroke style for like 30 minutes. When i get out, i was pumped as hell, whole body, chest, triceps, legs, shoulders, i was pumped more than from training. Now im sitting home and i even feel some muscles like my triceps when i flex them. I mean it was good as cardio, i liked it, but i wonder, cant it hinder my regeneration ? I do cardio on rest days, so i wonder if its ok from recovery point of view. Thanks for answers

If you aren't treating it too intensely, able to continue to progress within your program, and still gaining at the rate that you are comfortable with, nope. It may actually help from a recovery standpoint, especially if treated as a light session. The only problem is you may have to eat a little more if you are doing this frequently and intensely enough to burn enough calories to make a difference in progression, recovery, or weight gain (if that's a sure target of yours). That can be monitored and adjusted easily though.

Base your answer surrounding one thing, which should be your top priority: progressing in your lifts.

Do you like swimming? If so, then continue on with swimming.

Swimming casually (esp breaststroke) for cardio on rest days isn't going to negatively impact your lifting any more than other types of cardio - which it sounds like you rotate anyway. Just manage it with your program and nutrition like any other cardio.

I agree it depends on the intensity.
Recovery type work should be at a fairly comfortable pace that doesn't trash you.
The fact you are sore is just that it's a new movement for you and the body will adjust.
You certainly don't want to be sore and it effects you next training session.
