He was a multiple criminal offender before the incident. He caused bodily harm to a pregnant woman and threatened greater harm. In the police video I saw, he was clearly not thinking correctly; refused to engage in discussion and then became physical. He resisted arrest and it was not easy to stop him from resisting. He appeared inebriated/high/racing, then breaking down. Unstable.
Necessary Waiver comment that goes without saying, but you gotta say it!: The cop should not have kneeled on his neck. That was grossly negligent, reckless behavior.
Point is: Race was never indicated as a factor in any manner. No evidence of that in this case. Period.
But the footage of the kneeling on the neck, after they had the guy on the ground, that the media relentlessly pushed helped create the racism narrative, which gave the hard left an excuse to loot and destroy in the name of.....In the name of what? The false, unsupported narrative of racism? Systemic, pervasive racism of white cops, then all cops, then even of liberal mayors, who were too much a part of the system of racism and privilege.
All based on a false, unsupported narrative of racism, in this particular case. And this is the second time the hard left has done this. "Hands up, Don't shoot!" was also based on a completely false, narrative. The cop in that case was completely vindicated...legally, in having to do gut-wrenching act of killing another American on American streets. Good cop; legal behavior, and life ruined over a false narrativeEnvy is ignorance. Imitation is suicide.
