My biggest concern for my kid going into third grade is that another kid is going to struggle and she is going to help them and then she will get reprimanded for breaking social distancing guidelines at the school. They won't be able to share things with other students. The masks are going to be a constant issue for young kids as well - taking them off, getting them dirty, wanting to wear the cool one from home that is now dirty and not wanting to wear an available disposable one, etc. They have to eat three feet from one another. Desks too. I would rather her have a weird year doing the cyber school option we have than have to learn these new rules that contradict the values I have been raising her on.
These things haven't been an issue - the neighborhood kids have been playing as normal, her soccer team doesn't have to play with social distancing or a mask, if we are out with masks on and she needs a break, she takes a break.Boomer Rep Crew #1

You think you’re smart yet can’t even comprehend the article you’re reading. It’s 8 hospitalizations per 100k of the population so far, not from those that have the virus. I assure you there are not Just 8 children hospitalized from Covid at the moment. The stupidity is staggering no wonder people believe the bs that they do. Sit out for a while until you level up your reading skills srs.

All legit concerns. From someone who taught in Middle school, it's going to be a mess combining 100's of kids from all different backgrounds. Parents who think it's a shame, parents who are over protective.... and teachers who are hysterical ( i.e. most female teachers ).
And once the news gets a hold of some of the crazy stories that will come out, cause EVERY kid is ready w/ that cell phone to video. Boom. back to virtual "learning"Just trying hard to not be a fat sack-o-chit.

Majority of Americans cant have their kid home and work at the same time. At risk kids (you know, inner city ones that were all the rage to talk about helping a few weeks ago) often get their healthiest meals at school, come from broken homes, dont have computer/internet access, have abusive or absent parents, etc. there is zero risk to schools opening for them, but all the risk in the world for taking basically a year off.
And the pathetic thing is the same group that says no school are also screaming BLM. The majority of these people are parrots, useful idiots to their party who are just saying what looks popular online. The leadership are more insidious - they are knowingly sacrificing lives for political gain.

Oh and the quarantine spread from one person being positive is going to be a complete disaster. Our district always has a cyber option but now are doing virtual learning before potentially returning to school in I think it is November. I don't even want to take the chance becuase I know everything is going to change and be a cluster and I actually feel bad for the educators having to make these decisions.
Luckily my ex is afraid of the virus so it was easy to talk her into the cyber optionBoomer Rep Crew #1

Data is data. The goal of an epidemiologist is to stop or slow spread of a virus. It's NOT to weigh the risk and benefits with the education of kids, grow the economy, mental health, etc. Leaders are supposed to take advice from everyone - doctors, economists, business owners, etc. Not just hand the keys over to one individual since no one is all knowing.
If we listened solely to clowns like Fauci we would have economic disaster, rioting in the streets, mass unemployment (oh wait). All to stop the spread of a disease with a 99.996% survival rate? Come on man, think for yourself.

"Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."
"Not that it's impossible to touch a minor inappropriately, but it is true that a 6 year old girl will not recognize someone putting a hand on their chest as groping, whether it is inappropriate or not."

The countries that listened to their epidemiologists are the ones that have the virus under control. They were able to open schools safely, have low unemployment, and don't have civil unrest. The ones who have politicians that tried playing it off are the ones who are suffering the most now. It is mind boggling to think there is an entire profession dedicated to the study of pandemics and you brush them off as clowns because it would hurt your dear leader politically to change your stance. If Trump had just handed the reigns to Fauci like any other President would have done during this crisis he would have his re-election in the bag ironically.
