    Can't deadlift at my apartments

I can't deadlift at my apartments. I have a squat rack and a bench with a decent amount of weights. I also have to 2 20 lb dumbbells, a pull-up bar, and a standard Olympic barbell.

I can do rdls because they don't hit the ground.

Any advice on either building or maintaining deadlift strength?

While you do lose strength off the floor, I think rdls are a good alternative to conventional.
I can tell time. Time cannot tell me.

    RDLs
and snatch grip stiff legs but stop shy of floor by an inch.

You could even throw in RDLs to 1 inch from the floor, pause and then you have a deadlift from 1 inch above.

Stiff leg deadlifts work too, just use 135 lbs and go for perfect form and a deep stretch

You could pick up some horse stall mats to cut down the noise, perhaps? By the sound of the first post you are referring to your own home, so a little customization with no damage to property shouldn't be a problem.

IMO just practice lowering your DL with control so it barely makes a sound when it hits the floor... sounds like a good opportunity for that.

Fun is taking pride in having the strength and control to set that sh!t down gracefully, and then in being right-hooked in your iron core without even a flinch.
