Good day everyone. Bosko I hope you are feeling better.
High 48 today so we can finally thaw. But, no water yet and not sure when it will be turned on. Horrible.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Well howdy....guess I can take up some bandwidth.
This was interesting....a video that can provide a bit of personal perspective.
By the way....I'm what one might call an anti-cold weather fan.

Hey Wayne, thanks for posting. I am with you in the anti-cold fan
Good morning everybody. Finally coming out of the bitter cold (relative to here), but still no running water. Frustrating.
Bosko, you better??
I was offline all weekend, so I missed that pic, Bosko. Beautiful, but looks dangerous. Hope you are warm.Last edited by Mark1T; 02-22-2021 at 08:02 AM.

Yep...3 to 4 days ago we starting coming out of the minus temps during the nocturnal hours.
For several days the toilet tank wouldn't fill up so I had to keep it filled and the cold water faucet in the bathroom was plugged with ice but no breakage...thank you very much.
All is working well now.
Did I mention I'm an "anti-cold weather fan".
Have a great day all....Original music: www.soundclick.com/wayneevansproject

^^Wayne, I can relate. I had to unfreeze an outside faucet with hot water before turning the water off.
The water was finally turned on and after 10 long, bitter cold days and nights with no running water, no shower, I had my shower and shaved.
I have gone 3 days with no shower before, but not 10.
I hope everyone is ok and surviving the Arctic cold.
Have a nice weekHelping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

That would truly suck.
It's odd that our shower was not affected so we lucked out on that front.
Ha....I've definitely gone beyond '3 days with no shower' but not by choice and not in this country.
On those cold days it's difficult to get out of that hot running water.
Carry on....Original music: www.soundclick.com/wayneevansproject

Good morning everybody. Happy Wednesday.
Have a great day
Finally some pics since it has warmed up a bit:
One-fifth of my lake during snow and surface starting to freeze:
Iced trees:
Sad Cedar bearing the weight of the ice, but happy to report she has fully recovered:
Iced tree near my entrance:
Frozen spillway. You can see the big rock I threw on the iced surface to see how thick it was. It just bounced:

You got a nice looking winter wonderland there, Marky. I sincerely hope the worst of winter is now behind you and others in the deep freeze.
I gotta admit that I dont see the big rock in the last shot. Unless you're talking aboot that itty bity rock there in the middle of the road? Up here we call those pebbles.
and my orthopedic surgeon cleared me yesterday to resume lifting and I'm thrilled to report DOMs today after my first session back in the gym after 6 months off.
Feels real good, mang.

Chazzy, good to see you. Yeah that rock is about the size of my hand and heavy. That road ain’t a road. It is a frozen waterway.
But it’s nothing compared to Canada or Finland where Ms. Sassie Pants has a Summer home.
Got the doctor release. How great is that. You deserve that doms. Good for you. Been a long road so I hope you show those doctors. Good news.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

First off, thanks Marky. You've been super-supportive these past 6 months for which I'm sincerely grateful. Of course I'll take it slow, but I'm confident I'll get back to form by summer. I'm kinda stoked to maybe post pics here in the future with the badass scar across my shoulder.
and what's a frozen waterway doing in the road? Or is it like Venice?

Chazzy, waterway in the road.
I didn’t understand your earlier reference but yes I was standing on a culvert of a driveway which is above the waterway. Driveway/Road, yes.

Hey Bosko, good to see you brother. Yeah, I had to pick the year where it has never been this cold and the only snow year that exceeded this one was in 1895 I heard.

Happy Friday night everybody. Made some bread today. This is half whole wheat and half white so it is diversity/inclusive compliant.
Made using TangZhong, a Japanese technique that involves cooking a mixture of flour and water to create a slurry that is added to the bread dough when mixing.
I don't have my standing mixer here, so I kneaded by hand. Its resting now, so I will try later tonight. Smells good, but I have to wait

Good morning guys. MT is back. 113 mile hike is amazing. That is a lot of walking especially in the wilderness and in snow shoes, breaks for eating, resting, etc.
Have a great week.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

God damn right.
You fat slutty pigs!THE SPIRIT OF THE BAYONET: The will to meet and destroy the enemy in hand-to-hand combat is the spirit of the bayonet. It springs from the fighter's confidence, courage, and grim determination, and is the result of vigorous training. Through training, the fighting instinct of the individual soldier is developed to the highest point. The will to use the bayonet first appears in the trainee when he begins to handle it with facility, and increases as his confidence grows.
