Hey gang, I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.
Maybe this will be an interesting post to some.
So, I bought this rolling knife sharpener to maintenance my new kitchen knife set. It was pretty expensive and I hope that I didn't make a mistake with this purchase. I bought the more expensive "Horl 2" instead of the "Tumbler" because Horl offers the two extra finer grit stones.
I bought the Horl 2 (Amazon) which has a 1 to 1 spin ratio. The Horl 2 Pro has a 1 to 3 spin ratio and costs a small fortune.
Check out the gearing in the Horl 2 Pro

Hey Greg, yes, that is very interesting to me and I am sure Bosko and MT.
I have seen that advertised and I like it because it makes sense and it isn't complicated. I also like the Japanese stones, but you still have to get the angles just right.
With these, the angle is set for you. I say good buyHelping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Good to see you are alive and well, Mark! Yes on both counts re: SG. Sassy Girl, will be a great mother. Everytime little bubs are brought outside to get some sunshine, SG loves to stand by their baskets, grooming
them and just protecting them, making sure they are safe. The original carer did an amazing job the last 14 months and then brought her to a larger rescue place where they do soft releases, whereby animals can come and go as they please..

Hey Louise. That is very sweet.
Happy Monday everybody. Got to low 30s last night. Workout done, shower done. 1 cup of coffee done.
Spring is about here. My Dogwood has leaves and buds all over it. I got 5 cuttings from it and planted them to see if they will make babies. Might make some more.
MT must have taken a long hike. Back later.

First time in years I have lived without a dog in the house. But I still have my chinchilla which snailsrus she had one too whom unfortunately she left behind
rip to my best buddy Blackjack. And more importantly rest in Peace forever to snails !
Ellie
She has a free run of the house now with chord protectors else chinchillas will chew them.
I think snails was the only miscer who had a chinchilla but could be wrong
Ellie’s breeder is one of the top judges in the world of chinchilla contests.
Ellie’s parents have won multiple awards and ribbons in Chinchilla shows.
So she has super good bloodlines and came with lineage and a pedigree.
I made sure NOT to get a poor man’s chinchilla from a chain petstore and I opted for a very good show quality one instead from a 5 star breeder.
I drove 5 hours there and back yo get her but it was worth it.
The ladies love her most of them and think it’s so adorable I own her lolBLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

Happy Tuesday Gang
Lou1se, I think that you have some very cute friends, sassy girl is adorable
Gregg, that is an amazing sharpening set, I like it, you got some awesome knives so this is a great addition. I enjoyed the videos they were interesting. I never seen anything like that.
Kaz, always great to see you posing my friend, I hope all is well in your corner of the planet.
Deathstroke, I really enjoyed reading about your lil buddy, cute little frigger for sure.
Mark, sounds like you are getting some cooler temps, pretty neat about the dogwood cuttings.
A couple of pics from this mornings adventures on the ice. Winds made it colder than a whitched tit out there but I managed to get a couple of fish for me and my buddy for supper.
You all have an awesome day and keep a grin on.Air Force Veteran 1976 - 1999

Hey Ben. It has always been quiet, really. Only a very few people like to post here. A couple are pissed off for life this isn't a "Snap" thread
I have better things to do than waste time on that. People come and go and that's the way life is.
Ben, have a great day.
Happy Wednesday everyone. March winds are big from 20 to 30mph. But, at least it is warming up now.
Have a great day.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Howdy ben, Mark and gang
Ben, no idea why people aren't posting I can confirm that it's not because they are ice fishing, I haven't seen anyone fishing all week. Mark you are getting some wind, good that it will warm up for you though. We got some high winds and snow coming in so I was on the ice at O Dark early and just got off before the snow hit. I always like to fish the leading edge of a front like that it's usually pretty productive with the barometer moving and it didn't disappoint, I was only out for 4 hours but it was a busy one with some nice fish released. A view from my office this morning.
Ya'll have a great day and keep a grin on them chops.
I may have found Lou1se

Brock Lesnar said ufc constantly sent him devices, and tech things he never even uses so Dana white sent him a bucket of ice fish rods. Firearms. Ammo. Hunting bows and stuff he actually was into. Brock is a big county living boy who eats what he kills, personally I think he’d make a great addition to you guys 35O section. Srs. But he said he doesn’t bother owing a computer or use smart devices. and wouldn’t own a tv if not for nfl football, weather channel, and some hunting, shooting, and fishing shows. I like to fish myself, but have not been on hunt trip since I want to say 2007. Always loves fishing though. I grew up fishing in lakes up north now I do in the lakes of florida and the florida sea shores. Pier, boat.
No bow fishing aficionado yet. Bud I’m young There is time .
It looks beautiful out there.BLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

lol ah golf..I remember playing it some time ago.. JUST
MT, a golf course is certainly one of the places you will be guaranteed to find roos
but not usually this many. The mob look spooked about something.
Good to see you enjoying the fishing and with a wonderful scenery to boot
Mark, glad the weather is warming up for you. Spring and Autumn are
wonderful seasons to be out and about. May have said it before, have been busy
planting Aussie natives in the bare spots around the yard. The best time to do this is in Autumn
when the ground is still warm. I will baby them along for 12 months and then
leave them to it. Quietly, super excited to watch them do their thing
Power lines surround the property so I spent a few weeks lopping
trees, the ones I can't do safely will be done by an arborist. This place has
been a lot of hard work. Unfortunately, it seems the termites love it here too
The large fig tree has been very productive and is done for the season.
It's been a joy watching the birds enjoy the fruit. I don't mind sharing
Deathstroke, Ellie is a sweetheart! Look at that adorable face. I think I remember
seeing one other chinchilla, it possibly was Snail's. Gorgeous photos, thanks for sharing.

Lou1se. You just got to see how happy and carefree this chinchilla is . Here she is running her treadmill.
I forgot the miscer shesprints also had Chinchillas and said she planned to get more. Chins are very energetic and the poop 250 times a day. Their turds are odorless and hard and need to be vacuumed up but she’s worth it’s they’re very clean animals. Prefer cool temps. And their average lifespan…., 15-20 years I kid you not. 20 years That’s extremely long for a rodent.
Mark. I always need coffee so I feel you man. I drink roughly 2 pots a day. And I don’t feel I’m in Shape to go on a hunt with my father and his hunting buddies let alone with mtpockets. My father is a big hunter and took me and taught me how as a kid. I shot my first whitetail at 9 with him. I still will always have a love of fishing. Black bass mostly. I did catch a big stingray last time I did at Sea. Good times fishermen have.
I like to get high. Watching birds fly. And be on my phone . All when I fish.
That’s fishing Willie Nelson style. Except for surfing on the phone which fir all I know maybe he does that too.
He definitely said he likes to fish when he’s stoned.BLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

DS, you fit in well here. Nothing wrong with fishing and doing the things you're doing. That is life.
Edit:
I am for the first time, making a whole wheat starter so i can make whole wheat sour dough bread. Never have done it.
I began the other evening with somewhat equal parts warm water (50%) and GP flour (50%) and whole wheat flour (50%). Mixed together in a closed clear plastic container.
It took 36 hours to rise up and bubble, marking my first feed. You take out approx 2 tbls of the mix, discard the rest or save for pancakes, feed the 2 tbls with 50% mix of flours, mix and cover. Do that for about a week of re-feeding and it should be mature enough to make bread. So, I have about 5 days to go.
The whole idea is to use starter instead of yeast to leaven the bread. There you go.Last edited by Mark1T; 03-24-2023 at 10:14 AM.

I have a Hamilton Bread Machine. And sour dough is my favorite toast. I never made or tried WW sourdough but I’d be up for it!

I’m thinking of entering Ellie in one of the many upcoming chinchilla show. In the standard grey competition.
They are judged by top experts who know everything about show chinchillas and proven chinchillas. She’s just a pet to me but it could be a cool experience if she won an award or 2.

The Chinchilla world is a whole new universe I had no clue ever existed. Cute little fuzzy faces.
That would be cool to enter yours in a contest. 2 pots of coffee is a lotI usually have three to four cups.
Sour dough is a new experience for me and interesting. It is a learning experience. Each time it grows, you discard most of it and then use about 2tbls and warm water plus equal amounts of flours. This last time I did not use warm water and it is taking longer to mature. Oh, well, I learned from it.
Fished this morning with my brother and caught a few nice bass. Let my brother have them all to fix for him and his wife. I caught two 6lbers last night.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Howdy gang.
Nice Mark, that's some nice bass, glad you got into them.
I spent 2 nights camping on the lake night fishing for burbot. I usually go once a year, my neighbor really likes them so I try and get a few for him. We had a storm Friday night with high winds and snow that was coming down sideways so I figured it would be good fishing but it was slow going, however I did manage to get 3 smaller ones between 4 and 5 lbs. The neighbor was happy when I dropped them off though so that's what counts I guess lol.

Big MT, that some dedication and nice of you to fish for your neighbors. Well, that's fishing - catch some, lose some, some big, some small.
But, 4 to 5 pounds is a solid fish.
Just March and the record so far this year is a 10lb Bass, then an 8lber. My best so far is a 6.5. Long way to go.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.
