    Early Morning Pre Workout

I'm looking for suggestions for something I can eat, prefer actual food to a pre workout supp, before my workout in the morning that will be fast acting. I'm going to have to start working out before work and don't want to get up early enough to eat a meal then wait an hour to lift. I'm also not looking for a stimulant, ie. caffeine, because sitting at my desk drinking my morning coffee is part of my routine that I enjoy and I'm limiting my caffeine intake to just that. Ideas?

If it were me I’d just drink a protein shake and eat a banana

I train early in the morning before work. My breakfast recipes are:
    - Egg White Oatmeal (either with blueberries or honey and banana)
    - Protein Pancakes, no powder (mix prepped the night before)
    - Yoghurt Berry Bowl
I have made youtube videos for egg white oatmeal and protein pancakes, if you're interested I can post the links

Thanks for the suggestions. So do you eat then start your workout right away? I've heard that you should eat, then wait awhile before starting exercise. If I did that I'd need to get up much earlier. I don't get enough sleep as it is. For the 4 months I've been lifting its been easy since I've been working from home so I can have a good breakfast then workout when I feel like I'm ready.

Generally not a good idea to eat RIGHT before... it depends on meal size, tho. You need enough time for the food to get out of your stomach otherwise you might get stomach upset or nausea, etc.

Even if it's just a whey shake and a banana, I would give it at least 30min.

If I were in our shoes, I'd eat an oatmeal mixed with whey protein powder and banana. I'd wait for at least 45 minutes before cranking out my first rep.
