Also, while I remain open about HCQ, despite some studies showing it ineffective in certain situations, the people who promote it do tout it only works when caught early (and with zinc). Not so sure someone already in the hospital would respond well or not.

I have one friend who got it, as did his very elderly parents, all three got it, somehow his wife and kids didn't. Anyway, he had almost no symptoms beyond allergy level sneezing and lost the taste in his mouth. His very old father also got it, was doing fine, took a quick turn for the worse, within an hour had to be rushed to a hospital. My buddy was adamant about no ventilators despite his lungs being extremely sensitive and him not being able to breath well. They did put him on oxygen and I was told that turned him around very quickly, almost as quick as he went south. He went into ICU for a few days and no visitors, but was told he recovered well while there. Now he's out and fine.

Anyway, long story short -- we don't know chit, let's not chalk a complete unknown up to a victory for HCQ...

We should keep performing studies where it is used earlier, since there is little risk.

The UK did a very large (4000+ patient) randomised controlled trial on Dexamethasone and found it increased survival in even the most severely ill patients. The same group did an equally large trial on HCQ and found no benefit.

It's even cheaper than HCQ IIRC and it can save even the most advanced stage patients. Put this stupid **** to rest.

Dexemethasone is for patients in a critical state, I would rather try to avoid getting there. I am actually taking dex now as part of my chemo, but that just makes me more likely to catch it.

The drugs suppress the immune system, which could provide some relief for patients whose lungs are ravaged by an overactive immune response that sometimes manifests in severe cases of COVID-19.

69 studies currently show it works theres something like 560 studies out there that most likely used TOTALLY the wrong dose on purpose.
