    Are bcaas necessary for bodybuilding or gaining mass in general. What about cutting?

    Technically yes, but you also need the other EAAs or they don't do chit. If you're consuming enough protein then you're getting plenty of BCAAs. If you're not consuming enough protein then increasing protein should be the priority, consuming stand alone BCAAs won't help. Consuming BCAAs without the other EAAs may even be detrimental to muscle protein synthesis. For your reading pleasure:

    Branch chain amino acids, yes. Supplemental BCAA's no. We get plenty from our diet given adequate protein intake.
