    Fierce 5 - Deadlift Question

    I’ve been doing deadlifts 3x5 as the program suggests, but lately it became pretty taxing to me. I’am currently at a 350 lbs 3x5 deadlift and my question is if I can do 1x5 instead of 3x5 for deadlifts therefore or not.

    What do you mean if you can? Of course you can, you just won't be following the program and doing 1/3rd of the work, so expect 1/3d the results.

    If it's too taxing, try this: you're WAY better off just doing a deload week and resetting the weight by 10-15%, and working back up VS just cutting out on a arbitrary number of sets. This is why we have deloads and resets. You can't keep adding weights and set indefinitely.

    He isn’t “doing 1/3 of the work” though. He has reached a point where he has had to deload multiple times. So instead of beating himself up, he can reduce work set volume to keep progressing in weight.
