This, Beavis & Butt-head and The Simpsons were the best of the mid 90s animated sitcoms.

Ren and Stimpy was at its best when it was an adult show disguised as a kid's show. The last reboot they just made it straight up an adult show and it sucked, don't have much confidence in this next reboot either.

Cliffs: Rocko comes back from being launched into space in the 90's and is scared/confused at how things have changed. Ed Bighead's son, forgot his original name, is lost (ran away). Rocko decides to find him so he can bring back the Fatheads (his favorite cartoon) so he can reminisce on how easy life used to be.
Rocko finds him, and asks 'him' to come back, revealed that 'he' now goes by Rachel and got a sex change, and is scared to come back due to Ed disowning him if he finds out.
Next up is a traditional father pushing the daughter (was son) away and disowning him, only to realize he (Ed) made a mistake and he now accepts his daughter (son) for who they are and everything ends happily.
Pretty much an SJW jizzed on a napkin and they used that for the plot.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.

I will say the Hey Arnold movie/remake they made was pretty good, felt like the old show and wrapped up what happened to his parents; a bit corny but a nice ending to it.
