Why do chinese weight lifters tilt their head up when doing squats and americans keep thier head looking slightly down?
I squat slightly down but I'm wondering if there's an advantage to craning your neck up.
I am comparing chinese weightlifters to american powerlifters.
What's the reason they squat differently?

Wait what? Are you thinking of high bar squats vs low bar squats?
Olympic weightlifters squat high bar because it's more upright and therefore has better carryover to the C&J. Powerlifters often squat low bar because alot of people can squat more weight that way.*Deadlifts pants after taking a chit crew*

Do you have vids for examples of the different forms?
Only thing I could guess without seeing examples is squat style: Olympic vs. low bar powerlifting. Oly. squats keep the torso more upright, and require more thoracic extension. Looking up can help with thoracic extension. Low bar squats keep the torso angled down a bit more, and looking at the ground helps control this torso position.Once upon a time (maxes 2020) ...
