It's refreshing in my opinion that these guys aren't playing the narrative card from either the left or the right, it's all logical even if I disagree with some of the points such as reparations. These are true black intellectuals, not the fake ones pushing a narrative like Michael Eric Dyson.
Long watch but I think it addresses all of the talking points, counters to them and digs much deeper into the issue. I see Brett dancing around the true core of the problem though and Coleman and Glenn call it out like it is.

huge fan of all of them. Made a thread listing some of the people in that conversation and linking their podcasts: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showt...hp?t=178741321
I lold hard at the beginning of it when Bret gives this long wordy preamble and passes it off to Glenn he just goes "We are in deep doo doo!"
2 of my favorite are Glenn Loury and John McWhorter. You can't really pin Glenn down politically, and John is a disgruntled democrat, but they're both adamentally against the new BLM/"antiracism" narrative and dismantle it with intellectual precision.
Glenn hosts "The Glenn Show" on bloggingheads.tv on youtube and podcast platforms which is really really good. Been going over a lot of his work the last month. Here's the latest episode:

Actually listened to the whole thing.
Everyone had value added things to say except for the middle guy (the one advocating for reparations, he didn’t seem to have anything of substance that’s different to what’s already being offered by everyone else), and maybe John Wood for rambling without getting to the point.
I already agreed with a lot of what they’re saying but they provided historical examples I was not aware of, and explained things in a way that helped me better articulate how I feel on this. I’ve been struggling a lot with getting my ideas across. So thanks OP for posting this. Wish more people pay attention to content like this instead of the typical left vs right bull****.They said she's gone too far this time
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think that’s the point, I didn’t really want to see a right vs left debate. If anything, if you’re having true discussion, you’re trying to unearth the truth so you really should be going in with an open mind on what is the truth rather than already knowing the truth, or at least be open to the possibility of it being wrong.
I’m also right leaning so I already know our side’s argument, guys like Larry elder, candace Owens, Ben Shapiro etc. talks facts but they very clearly are biased on the right side of thought so seeing the other sides intelligent argument is good to be exposed to. That said, this pretty much confirms that the typical democrats and lefties have lost their mind, because the intelligent guys of their isle is clearly on our side. I’ve yet to find an intelligent person on the left supporting the BLM nonsense (by that I mean the org and what they stand for).
I would say Glen leans right from what I’ve heard from him although that’s probably Center-left just 10 years back.

Pretty much all of them with the exception of 1 heavily denounce Marxism. And a few of them openly call out Bret on tip toeing around the issue and actually invoke personal responsibility. Did you even watch the vid?
I’d say the problems are much deeper though and it’s not because of slavery, it’s about culture changes and what brought about those culture changes. The historical events they cite and sociological impacts were interesting. And if debating people on the left, it’s better to be armed with that knowledge rather than be ignorant of it.

The fact you're so impressed by Coleman Hughes doesn't bode well for your intelligence. He's a smart guy who is well researched and uses statistics and actual historical examples to make his case, which I give him credit for. But he states what are relatively obvious opinions for most intelligent people. Compare him to someone like Darren Beattie in the political realm who is actually a genius and makes no-so-obvious observations. Oh and he's Jewish by the way.
For someone black, check out Carol Swain. While she wouldn't agree with my worldview in some respects, at least she acknowledges whites have legitimate grievances with what has transpired in this country on a policy and cultural level.
