    Talking Have You Been Cutting Or Bloating During Lockdown? (ayyyy)

    I thought a lot of brahs would have taken advantage of the time to cut, going by what ppl on Misc are posting. I've been running and walking for those outdoor cardio gains, cutting hard, doing home workouts, eating super clean, taking advantage of not needing to eat out, etc.

    Thought I'd see lots of people getting a bit more shredded/lean TBH. I'd see so many more people working out outside when gyms were closed.

    But holy fukk.. been back to the gym and SO many regulars (both guys and girls) have turned fluffy lmao, and not in a good way. Even people whose physiques I used to mire/hnnnng at before. Only 4 months gyms have been closed, and they have literally gone to chit.. Am I seriously one of few people who hasn't just gone to town on dem dere lockdown snacks? How many people do you know who have gotten fatter/leaner?

    Also, as much as I admire dat dere dad bod bloatmogging, there's a lot of evidence to show that COVID affects people with a higher BFP% more.. hence all the "young, healthy" people with extra fat dying sadly.

    I was doing good for a long time cutting. Then I kind of fell off the diet and gained 10lbs. So now trying to lose the 10lb again...fml

    I've done that on previous cuts tbf mate, trick is to let yourself indulge time to time but not have "just one more" after that, nom sayin?

    I continued my cut through quarantine until July 4. Then my diet went to chit and I've been getting a little fluffy the past month. Combination of no gym/weights and cutting = muscle loss unfortunately. So now I'm just trying to maintain around 13% until the gym finally reopens here in Cuckifornia.

    When life is boring because you can't meet with friends or go out and do anything - food becomes one of your forms of joy.

    cut down to 170, then then on wed last week started cell tech/bulking. Cut has always been easy for me, i dont mind cardio and dieting, bulk isn't bad or hard to eat, just hard to watch the numbers go up and definition go down

    Just cut down to <130, taking a maintenance break for a week or two, then might return to a small deficit or I might not. The next lowest weight class is <125, but also, there are zero BJJ comps coming up so it isn't pressing.

    Cooking at home, free time spent working out, and I also am battling gastritis, so I can't eat a LOT of foods--cutting is way easier when I physically can't handle eating anything that is fatty or sugary. (Or tomatoes. WHY?!)

    I guess it can yeah, I've actually gone off "fancy" food during lockdown (which is weird b/c pre lockdown I'd definitely have said I was a 'foodie' without sounding like a phag lol). Idk, something about the whole disaster movie feeling made me focus on getting the nutrition I need lol

    Yep, home cooking and more time doing cardio, if anything most people should be leaner.

    I wouldn't say I've been doing "fancy" food though I did go out to Mastro's a couple weeks ago and had an epic fine dining meal.

    Mostly it's just been indulging in high-calorie foods I'd been avoiding: pizza, fast food, ice cream, alcohol etc.

    Been on a recomp for the whole lockdown, abs finally coming in, been catching a tan, can't wait to see what all the slackers at work accomplished.

    Recomp has been roughly 2,900-3,100 calories, just getting in 240-280g protein, keep the carbs under 300 and fats can generally be whatever, M/T/T/F Workout schedule, Monday Dead's, Tuesday Bench, Thursday Squat, Friday Pendalay Rows and some other accessory work.

    All 3 unfortunately.

    Bloated up from 240 to 280, went down to 270 and maintained for 2 months, went back up to 280, then went down to 256, then back up to 265.

    F in the chat boyos.

    Going back to a consistent diet (OMAD) and stop doing hardcore fasts because I end up rebounding hard.

    i voted cutting but ive lost 0lbs. I do think ive got a bit of a recomp going. I am doing 2 hours of cardio and a hour of weight lifting everyday. diet is 80% of where it should be. idk why i cant lose weight.

    I mean I get it. Cutting SUCKS. (Especially starting out pretty lean, as I did). I felt every bit of that 500-calorie deficit and was often grumpy and super low in energy... except for the really good days. The really good days were amazing--feeling light and super cardio-fit. Body movement improvements like better performance in hand stands and pistol squats/shrimp squats also helps a ton. Toward the end, though, i kept thinking "UGH, I'm so hungry and my arms look SO SMALL, I just want to quit!" But I didn't.

    Was already cutting when everything got shut down. Finished that at the end of April and been holding steady @ 190# since. Bars and restaurants being closed put cutting on easy mode.

    Now I'm slowly pushing more calories to ramp up metabolism a bit and make some gainzzz. Maintenance so far has gone from ~3,300 to ~3,600 kcal at this weight since stopping cutting.

For the first time in years (if not ever) you have total control over what you eat, the option to cook yourself every single meal. The time to go on runs and workout at home, even if just bodyweight exercises.

    Just further proof that all the BS excuses about not having the time or energy to cook proper meals and exercise regularly are just that for most people - BS excuses... Like I said above, covid cutting was like flipping the settings to easy mode.
