1. Do not leave your phone, keys, or water bottle on any bench or piece of equipment unless you are actually using it.
2. When working out with a partner don't take up 2 benches, 2 leg presses, 2 squat racks or any other 2 pieces of equipment just to do your sets at the same time. Alternate I go, you go, I go, you go.
3. Do not bring any light dumbells or fixed barbells in front of the heavy dumbells to do your 2000 reps of step ups, good mornings or whatever other bull**** exercise you saw on youtube just so you can stare at yourself in the mirror for 20 minutes.
4. Be mindful how long you are on each piece of equipment. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to do 3 sets of half rep leg presses and spend 10 minutes in between each set texting or watching you tube. Put your phone down A-hole.
5. Limit supersets or only use equipment that makes for easy transition. Don't take up the smith machine, squat rack, cable station or any other sought after piece of equipment that's going to take you 20 minutes to go through each round.
6. Under no circumstance do you need to record yourself or use any piece of equipment to lean your phone against to record yourself.
It's not hard. Try not to be a "me first" douchebag and your cooperation will make for a better experience for everyone.
Thank you

7. Don’t ****ing stand next to me whenever Im doing my ****. I don’t want any *******s doing their bicep curls next to my shoulder press or that dumbbell is gonna end up on their toes.
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

OP joined the gym yesterday and is starting to realize other people go there too.
I only read thread titles and my own posts.

No. OP joined first gym in 1990 (Nautilus). There is a difference between being there and not caring about how your behavior affects others and being a decent person with having respect for others. Given your military avi, your take on this surprises me. Do you feel like because you served your country your sense of entitlement is greater than others?

This one, I had to throw 140s in front of me because some kid was a foot away from my bench DB curling. Told him next time I would just break his foot. Give people some space in general, no need to be on top of others, you dont need to be right in front of the mirror to curl.

I remember one of the most pissening things I ever saw some guy had like two 25 Lb. plates on the bar and doing walking lunges.
Dude would just drop the bar from shoulder height straight onto the concrete floor after each set like a moron. The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.
That's why grandma's apple pie rocks and yours sucks.

So you want your partner to lift the exact same as you or swap plates every turn?
If I wanna do supersets, I'm going to do them however I see fit. I'm at the gym to lift how I want, not how you want me to.
I record myself fairly often to watch my form and make adjustments, which is pretty much required as I have a severe injury I'm recovering from and would rather not repeat. Others make their money through fitness. If they wanna record themselves and aren't in your way STFU.
Everything else, I agree. Get in, get your chit done in the proper area and get out. It isn't phone time.

This is why I go at 5AM, getting up early AF is so worth not having to deal with most of the shiit OP listed. I can go in, do my shiit with no wait, and be out. Also everyone in the gym is way more chill as well (usually the same 8-10 people).

It isn’t that I feel entitled bro. I am pleased with all of the wonderful benefits I receive as a result of my military service and have no desire to solicit any more.
I just understand that other people simply are not aware of/consider others around them. I don’t take it personal.
Out of curiosity, instead of just thinking about how you were gonna post this on the misc, did you actually take action to resolve your issues in the gym?
If people are not aware someone is waiting for the equipment they are using, then there isn’t actually a reason for them to rush.
The reason why I suggested you just joined the gym, is because most mature, understanding gym members understand this. We simply “hey man, how many sets do you have left”?, which makes our intentions clear, and also sends the message other people are there and waiting for you to finish. This easily makes people either work quicker to finish, or I usually ask them if they just want to join in.
These are not even really issues for avid gym goers man, because you can easily and respectfully just deal with it before it becomes an issue.
Instead, you take the ******** mom approach, get all worked up about it, hold it in, then rant on the internet about it.
I mean, did you just join the gym yesterday? None of this is new, or even close to it.I only read thread titles and my own posts.

Tru dat - its so frickin rude
Just because you are working out with someone, doesn't mean you should be forced to use the exact same piece of equipment at all times. There's no difference to YOU between 2 people working out together using separate machines vs 2 people who don't know eachother working out on separate machines. This is a silly one, and the only reason you even care is because you find out they are technically together.
You can have your phone and still be mindful of time. I remember the 2 longest wait periods between sets I've seen in the gym. Once guy was doing really heavy bench. He would do his really heavy set, then go sit down for 5+ minutes between sets for a full recovery before doing his next set. It sucked to have to wait, but at the same time I understood his logic. The other one was these 2 guys who were on the frickin tricep pushdown machine. They were talking SO MUCH between sets it took every bit of 30 minutes for them to complete their work on that machine.
I've only ran into this one time. There were only little 25 lbs weights on the bar at the squat rack and noone around, so I started to unload the bar to put some real weight on it. This little chick (good shape, but only like 100 lbs) comes running up to me and says she's super setting with that. Super setting with squats? She says "you can work in if you'd like." How in the hell is that going to work? I watch her little circuit and she's doing a circuit with squat, pullups, bicep curls and bent over rows. Mind you, these aren't within a reasonable distance of eachother. She's literally running from one side of the gym to the other to get this stuff done. WTF?
6. Under no circumstance do you need to record yourself or use any piece of equipment to lean your phone against to record yourself.ALL I ASK IS ALL YOU GOT FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES
