It's a shame Calvin's career was wasted on such a chit franchise. Easily the most talented/gifted WR to play in the NFL.

It should be split between Julio vs Calvin.

Calvin is taller and we can say better in the Redzone based on the #s. But he was also given more opportunities because stafford would force the ball regardless of if Calvin was open or not. Ryan doesn’t do that as often.

Calvin has nearly 100 more targets, less receptions, less yards but more TDs in the same amount of years in the league,

BUT Calvin also has 10 more games played than Julio. Julio would play him out of the water even more with some of those #s and close the gap TD wise with 10 more games played.

We have also seen Julio deliver in the playoffs and in the biggest stage: the super bowl

Julio will finish up likely end up with the better overall career, Im assuming he will overtake him statistically in most ways other than the season yards record ofc.

Calvin was comfortably the better player in his prime though for me, a genuine game breaker who was simply unstoppable, even though he never had much talent around him.

    QFT here.

In the Julio/Calvin debate, have to remember Julio had the benefit of playing with Matt Ryan his entire career. Calvin spent 3 years in QB hell with Kitna/Orlovsky/Culpepper/Stanton combo. Also - falcons had much more offensive talent to work with overall.

Lions have drafted skill positions terrible for a very long time. Roy Williams, Charles Rodgers, endless amounts of RBs who did nothing, useless Tight Ends. Big part of the reason Stafford forced the ball to CJ.

Julio is going to certainly surpass CJ's stats, but one can make an argument either way of who is better.

In reality - Rice/Moss/TO are going to be top 3 for a very long time, and I really don't think anyone can debate this top 3 as of now.

this is so true and the real reason why nobody can say that man is overrated. some of the red zone criticism is valid but as covered above, a lot of that is situational and his QB and other elements out of his control. i thought julio cemented himself as above reproach that postseason.

My contribution is Kirk Cousins, which may seem obvious, but the media loves him despite the fact he cant beat good teams.
The media hates Kirk Cousins lol, he gets way more **** than he deserves. Cousins makes some insanely talented throws that fly under the radar.

Julian Edelman - talk about a guy who is extremely over rated. Yeah he's got a lot of postseason yards because he's been in 20 postseason games. The dude is just a basic slot receiver.

Marcus Peters - Yeah he gets a lot of picks but he also guesses wrong and gets torched. A LOT. There's a reason the Rams let him go for what they did.

Ravens fan, but I somewhat agree with this. Marlon Humphrey though is absolutely legit, a genuine lockdown guy and at minimum a top 5 corner.

Nick Bosa. Overachieved in his rookie season, will either regress due to sophomore slump or be less effective from COVID because he thinks it’s a hoax.

Your argument for a guy being overrated, is that you are predicting he gets an injury and then doesn't hit big stats

Do you even know what overrated means?

Inability to play is a ding against you as an athlete, whether you want to believe it or not. We talk about overrated athletes within the context of whether their future performance will be validated by their current public/consensus rating. Facts don’t care about your feelings.

Exactly, but you're not talking about facts, you're talking about your strange feeling that he will get injured.

It’s called a prediction. Maybe if you weren’t so poor you could put your money where your mouth is.

Definitely Lamar. He sucks when it matters most and doesn't have the intelligence to outsmart elite d-coordinators in the playoffs.

He beat the patriots, he beat the 49ers, he absolutely annihilated the Rams in their own stadium, those are some of the best defences in the league.

You are judging a 23 year old QB based on two bad games, when he was a unanimous MVP in his first season as a starter, breaking a bunch of all time records in the process.

I always considered the overrated topic to be in the context of whether or not their current/recent performance validates their current public/consensus rating.

In that case you're able to base it on facts (their actual stats/performance) and not on feelings (I think he might get injured). You're also basing it on what he's actually done (facts) and not what you predict he might do (feelings).
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.

Performance and performance alone dictates the predator in any food chain.

Just calling it like I see it. Look at his playoff stats. It's bad and that's putting it in a polite way.
