Diet plan for liver damage and high blood pressure??

    Hello,

I'm 31 and I was just diagnosed with acute liver failure, stage 2 hypertension (157/105) and had a resting heart rate of 115. This is after 17 years of hard drug addiction, alcoholism, and almost exclusively junk food diet.

I finally got the message and I've been sober for almost 2 weeks now. I need to make some serious changes in my life.

I am so overwhelmed by trying to create a diet plan for myself. I know medical advice is probably not allowed here, but does anyone know what I should be eating to help my liver heal and lower my blood pressure? I have 2 medications I'm on to get my BP down, but I need to eat right.

Is there a guide or wiki for someone like me?

If anyone has some tips for someone in my situation I would be so thankful.

Also: I am 6'0" and my BMI is 26.1

clean diet, non processed whole foods is always the healthiest. Obviously eliminating sugar and trans fats is gonna be the goal. I'd probably think limiting any supplements would be a good idea as well. Probably best to consult with a nutritionist for a specific diet plan

Question, did you often take otc meds like ibuprofen or advil? I heard taking these after bining on alcohol/worse can destory your liver and kidneys.

Even if there were a doctor here, chances are they're not gonna risk giving you bad advice through blind feeling out.

Best do it proper, and ask a doctor who's more familiar with your case in person. Sorry if that doesn't help much

Detox makes you your b/p go through the roof as does a stressed liver. When I detoxed my b/p was twice what it normally was. The good thing is acute not chronic. It’s reversible most likely... get you things rechecked at 6 weeks. In the mean time talk to your doctor about blood pressure meds and if they think they are needed. You should have medically detoxed but at 2 weeks you are past the danger stages

Start taking zinc and thiamin, you most likely are deficient. Try to just eat nutritious whole foods while avoiding caffeine

If this is a legit thread, I'd ask your gastroenterologist for guidance and a referral to a registered dietitian who has a working knowledge of liver failure considerations.
