What exercise can I do while on Dialysis and working full-time?

Hi, new to the forum, I was wondering if anybody have any Good exercise ideas for someone working full-time and on dialysis? Because I’m working full-time and on dialysis each day my time is limited when exercising. I’m on dialysis 4x a week. What type of exercise would be most efficient for short periods and weight loss?

    Thank you

Although you should probably speak to your doctor about this, the 3 days you aren’t on dialysis would probably be your best bet.

Is your goal to simply get healthy? Do you have a lot of weight to lose? I'm assuming this is hemodialysis and not peritoneal dialysis if it's 4 days/week. You should clarify with your nephrologist what restrictions you have regarding timing in relation to the dialysis. If blood pressure is an issue I would stay away from heavy lifting and start initially with more cardio and lighter lifting that doesn't involve the Valsalva maneuver much.

Could you give more information about your medical conditions/age/height/weight/current exercise experience/goals?

Thank you for replying, I am in end stage renal failure. Been on dialysis for 3 years. My goal at this point is to lose the weight I gained when I started insulin. I occasionally get low BP on my dialysis days. I also work graveyard shift.

    Age: 39
    Height: 165 cm
    current weight: 99.5kg
    goal weight: 70 kg

I did do swimming before covid, about 3-4 time a week for 2000m/hr. (i don't feel tired when i swim)
currently I haven't done much. Maybe some stretching exercises, but not very consistent.

I'm looking for types of exercises that can fit someone like me. I've been more tired lately, don't know if its dialysis related, or the lack of movement. Luckily I have not gained any weight since being inside.

    Thank you
    blue

Haven’t got any answers in relation to your question but just want to say props to you for getting at it. I’ve heard many excuses for why people can’t go to the gym but seems you aren’t willing to let this hold you back.

Good luck with reaching your goals!
