    Free weights make your body balance the weight thus putting additional strain on the muscle.

    That's what I'm saying, if you only care about building muscle I have no doubt in my mind that u can use machines only and still build a great physique. I've been using hammer strength incline press instead of barbell bench and I feel I get a way better workout in on that

    Hammer Strength has great eqipment.

    The incline chest press and flat chest press can deliver an extreme pump when used correctly.


    As for only using machines, yes you can 100% build an exceptional physique using strictly machines.

    I can tell you've been in the iron game for some time.


    A true bodybuilder can grow no matter what.

    .These guys have not learned that yet.

    he is also having a litany of joint and bone issues now. I am all about free weight exercises as I think they give the best results for the amount of work done. But, if your goals are met with machines then nothing wrong with that.

    But what you need to remember is that Ronnie only trained hard, heavy and intense like that because he was a true mesomorph.


    His body would only respond to balls to the wall training.

    He has stated this many times over the years.


    He kept his reps between 10-12 and only went lower when doing deadlifts or squats.

    IMO machines are equally as good as free weights for building muscle BUT free weights are way superior for athletic performance.

    So if you play any kind of sport and want to look good, you are better suited doing free weights as your main excercises and machines for fluff and pump stuff.
