Who's is going to benefit the most?
Is this technology that will improve our society if so in what ways?

Self driving cars.
They will be able to communicate with each other in real time and know what the other will do.Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

How about this
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us...-features.html
Cliffs:
-Minimize the impact of load spikes, like with sporting events and news events (think streams of live events, which still often lag hard)
-Allow downloading of huge amounts of data very quickly, for movies etc
-Low latency allowing the control of devices in almost real time. This has applications in agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, gaming, and maybe even moving into chit like performing surgery remotely etc
-Increased capabilities for VR and augmented reality
-Increased network capacity in densely populated areas
-Increased ability to leverage big data for analysis and quick decision-making

Hackers will benefit from it greatly. Imagine downloading your whole photo album in mere minutes without you knowing. INB4 revenge pr0n.

No more so than the car put the railroads out of business (and lots of jobs). Progress isn't always clean, transitions are made. Usually when one industry gets phased out, a new one replaces it.
5g will benefit literally all of society, from watching pron and YouTube vids to self driving cars to AI, anything that has digital data transmitted (which these days is everywhere).

lol "real time" is such a lame buzzword, self driving cars are autonomous, the bandwidth needed to simply relay a route/driving conditions/intentions to say a traffic management system would be absolutely minimal, prob less data than streaming a 320kbps song from spotify lol. more importantly long ranges would be needed, 5g is short range. absolutely useless for self driving car traffic management, 4g is still better for this purpose in any way and has more than enough speed.
