Y'all need to wake up.
Blizzard literally hasn't had an original idea since Warcraft 3, Starcraft:BW and Diablo 2.
Not a single person who made those three titles exists at Blizzard. They left and made their own companies or joined indies.
They actually can not even remake the games. Look what happened to WC3. Broken to hell and back.
Stop waiting for and relying on these old school big companies to do something great and wonderous again. They literally are riding off reputation and work from 20 years ago.
No, stupid ass overwatch is not original. It is called Team Fortress 2.

*applause*, but don't mistake the "wishing there would be a Diablo or Starcraft universe MMO" with "thinking Blizzard still has what it takes".
You could tell from Starcraft 2's release that there was a nail in the coffin - they alienated so much of the BW player base. By Diablo 3 - it was clear they were just trying to optimize mass appeal; long gone was any attempt to make a game as immersive as Diablo 2, or to create the moments we know and love from Starcraft and BW.
But just because people are docile and stick to games which they have invested heavy amounts of hours into, doesn't mean there is no appetite out there for a good/social MMO again @kramericaind.
The question is: will this be the one? And only time will tell, though it looks promising already.

Monetary success? Sure.
But the best MMORPG in history is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, Everquest. WoW is the "casual offspring" of that game, so mass appeal is obvious. But quality of games != "which sells the most". There's a reason why Everquest will always be remembered as the pioneering MMORPG of this type.

I don't disagree. I don't even bother keeping up with the MMO genre anymore. It's all WoW clones or just trash for other reasons.
Just feels like the genre is just done. Except for Blizzard milking WoW for all they can. I mean, they've somehow managed to convince people to literally pay to play the 15 year old version of the game again which is insane to me...so I guess at this rate they'll manage to convince people to keep doing it for another 15 years.

I was pretty heavily invested in Black Desert back in the day, think I have a level 62 or 63 character with mostly TET gear.
The end game just becomes a big grindfest, the game IMO is pay to win because people could can just buy coins to get their money up and value packs IMO are pretty much pay to win. The pvp is honestly pretty trash. Those two are probably the biggest turn offs for me when playing a game but if you can look past it I guess it's a pretty good game. Became too much of a chore for me to keep up with.
but now I think they have a pretty big exp event (could be wrong, just heard), and if you are into exploring the world and making lots of characters and levelling them, I guess it should keep you busy.

It looks interesting and i'll surely try it seeing WoW is a fukin joke atm and the next xpac doesn't look interesting at all.
However bear in mind:
1) The new generation of gamers are total retards and have short attention spans, they want to play chit that doesn't require work or dedication. That's why battle royale games and chit like that are doing so well now.
2) This game, even if its good, will have a small niche community because WoW players are still too fanboyish/loyal to the brand and will automatically hate on it regardless of how good the game is.
3) There is still the risk of devs fuking it up and not releasing a good game.
Just stay realistic and go with the flow so you won't have to deal with massive disappointment in case the game sucks.Lurker for 2 years before registering crew
