What kind of protein powder is best if I can not exercise?

I have hernia, I can't exercise for a long time. What is the best kind of protein for me, Whey, Iso or Casein?

The same as if you were training 4 hours a day - whatever fits your budget but if you’re not training why not spend that money on food? You’ll be much better off getting your protein from whole food sources like eggs, meat, fish etc rather than in powdered form.

Protein powder is powdered food. It doesn't matter one way or another. It's a wholefood replacement not a necessity, or magical gainz powder.

Since you have an extra 60 min a day ”free” i suggest cooking real food. If not; then pick any of the ones above. It wont matter.

I have hernia as well, as since I have to train slightly different, I stopped taking any protein powder. I'm just making real food.

And that doesn't matter. Protein powder is food, just powdered.

It all depends on your goals.
If you are just trying to hit your macros, can't workout, and are mixing it with water stick to isolates so you dont gain weight from lack of workingout.

If you care more about taste = whey or blend.

Or caesin is good for prolonged release of protein thoughout the day.

The best protein to eat when not working out is the one that hits your target protein for the day. The best protein to eat when you are working out is the one that hits your protein target for the day.

Love to hear how isolates prevent weight gain? Care to elaborate? I will not be visiting your blogs.

No it doesn't depend. It's all just powdered food. One type isn't better nor worse than the other in the context of a high protein diet of varied sources. Protein is protein.

LOLWUT? It doesn't matter. You're not going to gain weight directly because you used a non-WPI powdered food.

Also untrue. There are plenty of WPIs that taste great and plenty of WPCs and blends that taste like a bucket of azz.

More stuff that doesn't matter. Digestion rates and BV are largely not relevant because, unless you're fasting >24 hours, your body is constantly digesting food from previous meals. Digestion can take upwards of 48 hours. It's also pointless to worry about because one meal without context to the rest of your diet is not going to make nor break success.

The amount of kcal of carbs in regular whey isnt a dealbreaker even if it would contain 10g per 100g. Or are there any orher reason you see that isolate are more superior?
