    Benching after shoulder dislocation

    I dislocated my shoulder 4 weeks ago and am just getting back into lifting (mostly calisthenics so far). I can't bring the bar to my chest without pain (even with no weight), but don't have too much trouble with pushups oddly enough.

    I was benching 3 plates before this and am wondering if I can expect to get back to that. How long does it take to get back to lifting heavy? Will I be able to lift as much once fully recovered or does this sort of injury always hold you back somewhat?

    Any advice? I'd like to hear your experience with recovering from dislocations.
