    DeadLifts, Never Under 405, Update

I stared a thread earlier this year that I will never do a DeadLift workout under 405 for as long as possible. I don’t know where the thread went, but I can’t search over 2 pages.

What it means is I must do at minimum 1rep with 405.

I have stuck to this, but sometimes I don’t DeadLift every week.

During the lockdown I DeadLifted every two weeks and never went under 410.

The first day back at the gym I did 430x2 and the 2nd rep was such a grinder I torn about every muscle in my lower back.

I didn’t DeadLift for two weeks, instead I did front squats and clean and presses. My back is finally allowing me to back squat 315+ without too much pain.

Last week I DeaLifted 405, felt hard, then did 415, which felt as bad as 430. Then I did a drop down 315 for perfect reps just to heal my back, that felt GREAT!!!

This week I worked back to 405x1 and felt better, then did a drop down with 335 for reps focusing on keeping the bar on the legs and perfect form.

Next week I’m going right for 415, I won’t even try 405. Then hit a drop down with 355 for reps.

The search on this site is "problematic" to say the least. One thing you can do is use some search engines to search the forum for you, that often (but not always) helps. Google used to have a powerful search language/syntax available but they removed most of that a few years ago (I think the only people really using it were people of questionable security intent, but yandex still offers similar tools if you need that in a general purpose search tool, but be aware where they're based )

Anyway, even with Google's tools gone, you can still search within a site using site: and no space and the site name, then a space and your search terms for example

    site:forum.bodybuilding.com LWW

This is all searchable content on the forum containg LWW

    Happy searching, Enjoy...

    I lied.......

6 days since last Dead Lift I went right to 415 for 2- singles.

425 was on the bar so I took it, easiest pull with 425 ever.

Didn’t do a drop down, squatted instead for 2 sets of 10, and behind the neck push presses.

Faith in Jesus first and faith in squats second.
Then other details will start to slot themselves into place.

Gym. It’s not your typical commercial gym though, it’s more a strength studio/kettlebell club.

Saturday is strongman/strongwoman and powerlifts/Olympic lifts day.

Yes the ones I have are small hole plates.
Yes the guy I was training with does power meets, so he used the Olympic size 100s.

The week prior another guy used all bumper plates=easier.

Alright now, 425# (that's just over 190kg) (it's a light weight) went up great with 100# plates, my form is dialed in, conventional style. The powerlifter whom watched it, called it superb. Just a slight stick at the shins, but both legs lost skin, which means the bar stayed on the shins during the lift.

I'm now going to use 425# for every Dead Lift session, at least 425 x 1.

    We'll see.............

Why not put on some sweat pants for your deadlift session? It'll keep your legs looking pretty.

... or is it a macho thing to have bleeding shins?
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

It's easy to not be afraid of tigers when you're sitting in your living room watching a television program about tigers. When you're in the jungle where the tigers are, it's quite a different story.
