I was unaware the transmissions they use were not a normal plain torque converter automatic but have some type of clutch as well. Scottie says that he hasnt seen any issues yet so that is pretty good news.

I drove one. I liked it but I wanted awd and a hatchback. The Mazda 3 awd hatchback was a little pricier then I wanted so I went with an impreza hatchback instead. Mazda does make some nice cars though

Got a Mazda 6 2015, great car. Only downsides is that roof is a little too low and it is not fast. However, when I did Uber I always got compliments, even some idiots thinking it was a BMW or Mercedes lol

Ignore the haters. Test drove one when my mom was looking to buy a new car. The driving experience was great, much better than most other sedans in the same class. It ain't as comfortable as some, but it's a trade off.
    Grats on the purchase!

I am more annoyed though that manufacturers dont make more true sport or hot hatch editions of their cars. Like the old mazdaspeeds. I can get why its hard to make a dedicated entire new platform sports car but you can make sport editions without that much cost difference, just some chassis stiffening, some suspension changes and engine/transmission programming. Ok they put the turbo in the 6 but its still not a mazdaspeed. They could also make a hot hatch with the 3 and the turbo engine and really only a few tweaks but if they even do the turbo in the 3 they will probably not go aggressive enough as a speed edition. It really limits the options for affordable "sports" or "sport like" cars.

ya i got deep crystal blue also..with dark grey leather seats.
    from internet:

red color would stand out too much in new york plus i also heard about its chipping issues.

thats what german cars have on other cars...super durable paint.

Not my taste, rather a Genesis with manual transmission which does cost more. And I don't see how the Mazda 6 is fun unless you're on curvy roads.

but it's good you like it though

I was never gonna buy a Toyota or Honda or Subaru..because I have some self-respect...but I also didn't wanna deplete cash on BMW or Audi. After research some people suggested Mazda as its a 'car enthusiasts' brand.

Mazda really surprised me as a brand...they make sporty cars but with lot of luxury. Reminded me of my older car BMW 5 series e60.

The torque is 310 lb-ft which is more than enough to make wheels spin if you step on it & merge on highways going from 30 mph to 70 mph with ease. The turbocharger gives it an athletic personality with nice heft to engine sound...otherwise 4 cylinders in general just sound sad.

the steering feels so good, entire car has nice clean dashboard with no plasticky rattling parts. Small touchscreen and real analog buttons is a win in my book.

Car is super quiet on highways, loaded with tons of safety features and very generous back seat legroom.
    heated leather seats, apple carplay.

If you are looking for a fun to drive adult sedan and dont wanna drop 50g on BMW or Audi...do give Mazda 6 a look. They are also planning to launch a RWD platform in 2022.

no, you certanly dont have any self respect and neither do u know anything about cars.
mazda 6 is has very less legroom, more expensive spare parts, slower than a v6 camry, same front wheel drive as of accord or camry and a noisy engine.

the only reason people buy mazda is because a camry or accord is sold out and dont want to wait till the new stock arrives.

    Interdasting OP

The last car I drove before heading overseas was a 2015 Mazda3 GT hatch. I loved everything about it. Maybe could use a bit more power but it's adequate. The steering feel was amazing and I actually got used to the infotainment quickly. Great car.

Fast forward today, I will be purchasing a car after I purchase a house here in Vegas. Budget for the car is around 30k. Looking at some Lexus CPO offerings (2017-ish IS350, GS350), 2020 Accord 2.0T, and the 2020 Mazda6 GT Reserve are my top choices.

^ This guy kind of convinced me to take a harder look at the 6 even though it's not the fastest or the most high-tech in its class. I truly understand the fun to drive aspect of it after owning a 3. Other reviewers like Joe Raiti and publications like Edmunds and C&D love the Accord 2.0T though.

If any of these dealers near me offer $30k OTD, I'd probably pull the trigger. How much you got yours down to OP?
    We’re all gonna make it.

In the US they announced the turbo on the mazda 3 and will be for both the hatch and the sedan. Its not out yet though, maybe a few months to early next year.

The more I see mazdas the more I dig their design language, except for the SUVs cause those are hideous.

Soul red paint is just too nice to pass up. I would just get the front end wrapped in clear to prevent chipping. Black is also super nice.

The hatch looks pretty clean too.

Sedans are really attractively priced these days as they are not popular but I always loved & will love sedans.

Sedans are nice and Mazda is a good brand. I think you made out great, OP.
