Fired up my old SNES this morning, feelsgoodman

Was a bit dusty and grimy from being in a box in the attic, but still worked. Played a bit of Super Mario World, A Link to The Past, Street Fighter II and Ultraman.

I'd forgotten how difficult those games were, and how chitty Ultraman was. Also in the box are my old NES, N64, GameCube and OG Xbox and games.

I love that game, still consider it one of the all time best. It's amazing how fun it still is no matter how many times I have played it.

After a while I learned some of the tricks, some levels have some hidden secrets that are surprisingly hard to learn. There's just something about the flow to the game.

Yeah it's hard to beat the SNES and N64 highlights, something about the best from that era that really stands the test of time.

Ocarina of time takes the number 1 spot on my all time list.

Street fighter 2 turbo on the snes cracks the top 3 as well

Fun fact: My SNES is always plugged in. Always. Just the other week I ripped through Donkey Kong Country 1-3 on a quiet weekend morning. Last weekend, I started a new game in Chrono Trigger.

SNES will always be my favorite console. N64 a close second.

I think for me as well. It's hard to pick a favorite game but Ocarina of Time probably had the largest impact on me as a kid. I plan on playing it through in a few weeks when I have a bit of vacation.

Super Off Road was the most underrated SNES game ever. Especially if you had the 4 player adaptor and 3 friends.

Super Mario World is too easy IMO. Probably one of the best games ever, but they made it too easy compared to 3. I like the idea of the Kaizo mario hacks, but they are too hard. I can only get to the floating goomba 1/3rd of the way through the first Kaizo Mario World level after playing it quite a bit for 6 months. Baby Kaizo World seems just about the right, not to hard and not too easy. Here's a bunch of fan hacks from SWMcentral that I already applied the ips patches to (the tedious part) + the Kaizo Kollection (Baby Kaizo World is in there). https://mega.nz/folder/J7oCTCYB#_hneIFmFefEYzXXGMbl8_g

I wish I could erase Ocarina from my memory, so I could get those feels all over again. That first Temple of Time moment was so amazing.

Know these feels. Know them hard. I remember going to spend the weekend at my grandma's house. I brought my N64 with me, having popped over to the video store just before and renting a game called Ocarina of Time. I spent the weekend there playing that game and it changed my friggin' life. There was something magical about spending a summer playing that game, especially since I figured I was Link's age when he's a kid in the game. I would go out afterwards in the forest and pretend I was him. There is nothing like that childhood sense of whimsy and imagination.
