Seems like most of the negative reviews are just saying "It's good but doesn't do anything different."

Uh, if that's what equals better scores then any racing game is trash I guess. I don't expect every game to come up with some groundbreaking new thing. If it's a solid experience of what it claims to be, then rate it appropriately.

I truly believe there are people out there(most of whom probably work at Kotaku, IGN, or Polygon) who are upset at the lack of diversity within Ghost of Tsushima. Just like how SJWs attacked Kingdom Come Deliverance for not having more minorities in 15th century Bavaria, these same people are probably mad that 13th century Japan doesn't have a lot of trans fluid disabled black women.

I've thought about playing on hard now that I've gotten used to it a little. So far I have been doing a decent amount of side quests but don't want things to get too easy going forward if I'm overpowered

This game is meant to be played on hard, anything less is just silly. It's a Samurai game with a realistic sword play. I've died by low level scrubs because I over estimated them

My hand eye coordination has sucked since I was a little kid. Hard is hard AF for me and normal is eAsy. I need an extra normal mode lmao

Finally got some more time to sink into this, man the game has been amazing so far. The usual fetch quests aren't that annoying because it's very quick and easy, and the method of upgrading with the resources used is super nice and streamlined, unlike AC or other games which breakdowns resources into other subparts just to make you grind more and artificially pad the length... But here, all animal skins are just that, animal skins, you need to go hunting for specific animals for specific parts (fuk off RDR2 ).




And these graphics o lawdy ... I dont think I'm ever tiring of looking at these environments, but shame about the other parts which they couldnt polish up like the rocks, facial animations or cutscene animations ... They really stand out badly because of how good everything else looks.




Also i'm finally clicking with the combat and absolutely loving it , with different stances and the kunai + special moves is so hnnngh. I love the kunai, absolute lifesaver in battles. But this camera angle seriously needs a patch pronto. It's infuriating. Why doesnt the camera track with me!!

Picked up a copy and played a couple hours last night until I ran into a side quest I keep getting crapped on trying to clear out a town, pretty fun and the combat is hard if you try to just parry, dodge and strike before you have your techniques and stuff to help with multiple attackers. Figure I might need to train up a few techniques and come back to that fight.

Scenery is amazing, the wind system is pretty cool rather than bringing up a mini map all the time.

Just dipped my toe in the pool so far, but really liked the start.

One of my favorite parts about the game is the fact that there's basically no HUD. Yeah at times you can have small icons show up such as the amount of arrows you have, etc.. but 99% of the time it's just you and the world, no HUD to clutter it up.

So after like 10 hours I am still in Act 1 LOL trying to do all the side quests in the first map and just explore. Want to grind my first platinum throphy for this game.

My impressions:

Game is actually amazing.
- The graphics and the combat is very enjoyable.
- Even tho some side quests are repetitive it still doesn't feel like a grind and I do enjoy them.
- The mythic quests are my favourite ones. Just got my longbow with explosive arrows.

My only concern is that I feel like I am overleveling hard. I already fully upgraded kunai, my deflect abilities and some other skills. I upgraded almost 2 full sets of armor and my half bow. Now rocking the strawhat armor that increases my melee by 30 percent.

I am playing on hard and I feel like the game is on easy mode. Maybe cuz before this one I beat sekiro and odyssey on hard but idk lol. I still enjoy the combat tho just wish it was harder. The bandit leaders die from 2 fire arrows so yeah.. Usually only die if spears combo me while trying to deflect

Also in trailer they showed dismemberment and I am yet to dismember anyone in this game lol.

They got that move from ac origins. It's more subtle in that game. It's a deliberate nod to an a.c. touch.

Been playing for several hours without playing the main story. It’s like many of the locations have NPCs that give side quests for you

I’m blown away by this game. The graphics and color are so rich and deep. The music. The sound effects. Really well done.

I’ve been playing on hard because I like a challenge.

It’s basically a Japanese themed Horizon Zero Dawn and Legend of Zelda mixed in.

Can confirm.
Combat can get tense as well, even if it's not straight up Sekiro levels of difficulty. I try to make it look as stylish as possible with perfect parries and stuff.

Witcher 3 definitely didn't have useless fluff. If you mean fetch quests, no this game doesn't have that.

Maybe some tea or diet Dew with it?

I like eating these during game sessions because cheesy puffs or any other comfort foods that are messy just smudges my DualShock 4’s.

One of the GOATs of this gen. Super disappointed but not surprised major publications like those on Metacritic aren't scoring this higher. Sucker Punch did something special with this game.

Heard someone say this game "narrativizes" its gameplay. That's pretty spot on. The game mechanics and little side activities like haikus really lend emotional weight and add to the story of Jin and also the island at large. Perfect example of less being more. RDR2's world, despite all its systems and quipping NPC townfolk, didn't feel as much as a character unto itself as the world in GOT.

Outside of a few missions you dont need to go stealth. For the majority of encounters you can approach the mongols head up, do a standoff and then rush the rest of them

Since I've progressed to a certain point in the game, it seems almost impossible to win stand offs anymore. Anyone else having this issue?
