    Hello from SLC

    Hey y'all, coming from Salt Lake in Utah. I found these forums looking for some tips for safe exercises. 29, retired mil, suffered some herniated discs that really !@#$ed up my back. Had surgery in March (disc replacement), so now I've got some titanium in there. Managed to make a full recovery by now with a training split and cardio.

    I'm looking for any tips on safe exercises that one can do to really target the upper and lower abs/obliques without torquing the lumbar. Started out with an ab wheel, which does well enough, and a roman chair for handing leg raises. Anyone else go through this? Were you able to get back to doing full range of motion ab sets, crunches, wood choppers, etc?
