This isn't the Spanish Flu. We shouldn't be closing down for 7 deaths a day.

At least those brahs got to taste freedom, my state has no intentions of gyms or even indoor dining for the next couple of weeks

Although I do admit probably sucks more to have that little freedom snatched away

Because if youre going to close because of this, you should permanently close everything forever because everything has a small degree of risk.

    Because cases =/= hospitalizations

We also do the most testing unlike other countries where you have to be exhibiting symptoms on top of being in a hospital/bedridden to get tested

Also economic impact will be greater than these deaths

lets not forget all the people who are sidelined from surgery + treatment because of this exaggeration

The gov't should stay out of what people want to do.

If you want to risk getting covid then you should have the right to go where you want to go as long as you follow the rules in place. If a business decides they want to stay open then they have every right to stay open. If employees don't want to work they should be allowed to stay home during this time. Let the people who want to work, work. Pass some laws protecting employees from getting fired if they fear getting sick. Pass some laws preventing people from suing businesses if they contact covid while at their business.

Its not going away. We need to adapt and not just shut everything down.

It's easier for them to shut everything down than to have a nuanced approach. The scariest part about this whole thing is that this could become a new normal for us as a society.

The funniest part about all of this is its actually the smart people I know who want things to open back up, i.e. business owners, investors and overall successful people. Its the losers who don't understand basic economics that want things to stay shut down. Just lol @ you sheep giving into the far left extreme media. You guys believe any lie you're fed and are incapable of thinking on your own. Have fun when your $600 a week of free handouts dries up.

You don't have to dig too deep to realize that COVID numbers are artificially inflated by fake positive tests and contact tracing apps on all phones now.

because we have like 7500 deaths in a state of 30 million people which comes out to about 0.03% fatality. And 340k confirmed cases which is 1.1% infection rate. That's a 2.2% case fatality rate.

By the way, I was generous with the death and case numbers, and conservative with our state population. Actual numbers are 7086 deaths, 336k confirmed cases, and a 39million population.

And that's all assuming the numbers for deaths and positive tests is all legitimate. Did I mention over half the deaths and over 1/3rd of the cases are just from LA?
"So there I am sitting in the waiting area of the hair salon with my niece and Keanu Reeves walks in. I was nervous as ****, but too scared to say anything to him. Then my niece started crying, and I’m trying to quiet her down because I don't want to bother him. Pretty soon he walks over and asks what's wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry. He put down his magazine, picked up my niece, and lifted up his shirt, and breastfed her right there in the salon. Chill guy, really nice about it."

Yup. The mainstream public are following blindly without doing their own research on how deadly it is for most people. People are programmed to watch certain media outlets. These media outlets perpetuate the same narrative that the virus is very dangerous. People's natural fear instincts take over and their behavior operates out of that fear. This is how government is able to pass legislation that instills more control over the public which allows them to appear purportedly essential to keep the public safe from any future virus.

LA has 10 million people which would account for higher rate of deaths/cases.

"We need to avoid saturation of the population so old people are at risk far longer in time than they should be and more will die even though we think we are saving lives"

You have to conclude at this point that the average person is just a clueless, uneducated, unthinking moron and politicians are giving the average person what they are asking for. Not much more to the story than that.

I don't feel bad for people in California though. You need to ****ing move.

So true. It hurts the poor(service industry) while major corporate businesses remain open. The wealth inequality will only get bigger from here.

Because more people have committed suicide than die of the virus here. Anyone who argues that the virus isn't serious is ignorant, but anyone who argues that the recent closing isn't 100% political, due to deaths being at an all time low, is also ignorant.

There is an argument that the recent rise in the past week or so in cases are not a result from the protests because the timing of the protests. The problem is more likely that the temperatures in Calfornia have dramatically increased. People are spending more time indoors with the A/C on which makes the virus easier to spread.

There is some support for this because if you look at Colorado. Colorado has opened up and not seen a dramatic rise in cases. The summers in Colorado are mild compared to California, Arizona, Florida. Thus, the theory is that residents of Colorado are spending a lot of time outdoors instead of inside with the A/C on.

Then get out and have it your way, and let natural selection take care of you. This virus has an r-naught of 6. That means everybody and their moms and their grandmothers are gonna get this if we don’t put strict measures to prevent it.

People who have been infected by Covid-19 report serious after effects. I have someone I know die from this. She was 23. Also my mom’s acquaintance lost 30% of her lung capacity after “curing” from covid-19.

Reports after reports say there can be severe consequences and after effects even if you don’t die, and I won’t take chances. I like being healthy and I like to live.

-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

Oh but the protests were NOT the reason for the resurgence of Covid.

    But is there direct evidence?

How many people SPECIFICALLY at the protest vs all the people who went out without abiding by safety precautions.

Its easy to not view it in perspective when you see such a large group of people but lettuce be real tea...there were more people going out about their lives like nothing was going on that were specifically at the protests.

THe huge spike probably wouldnt have happened for each specific scenario but together created the problem.

So blame the protesters and blame the phaggots who are too fkn retarded to follow basic safety measures

3 days. Like that will do fukkin anything with a 14 day quarantine and over 3 day incubation period.

It's just like the beginning of March, just two more weeks. Then two more weeks. Then 4 months later.
