The police could have done that.. and I doubt they did anything more than bring him down to the station and then immediately let him go (although I could be wrong). Nevertheless, you can't break the law. Forget about a KKK member burning a cross because that is covered under the first amendment and rightfully so. What is not, is telling someone that if they don't do X I will come to your house and do Y. Once you say that you do not receive the same protections. It is the same as if the kid said he would show up to school with a gun if a black kid on his team scores a goal... you have to draw the line somewhere... and threatening violence is usually it. But like I said, I am sure that they let the kid go and rightfully so. But it's still a good lesson for him.

I honestly don't know what he was arrested for, I just assumed it was for a threat. Nobody should be able to be arrested for racism or racist speech... that's absolutely ridiculous. But if you threaten someone and they report it... you have to at least expect the possibility of a visit from police. Given that the kid was 12, you can make the argument that he is unable to make a legitimate threat.

This is about the fact that a 12 year old was arrested for making a "racist" post. Now, the reason this is a big deal, is because you see stories like this, and you don't want it to happen here in the US.
