Would you go to such a place when Florida is in a Covid surge? Would you let your children go?
I wen't there in 81 because I had a few days to kill before heading to Daytona Beach before spring break was about to begin. It was great, I enjoyed myself, I think the highlight was space mountain. I am an adrenaline junkie and coasters are a hoot. But I can't see myself going while this mess is going on, nor would I let my young children go. I'd put that off for a year or whatever it takes.

You put more faith in Mickey and Minnie than I would. They can have all the rules and practices in place, it still does't stop fuktards from violating those rules. People can be idiots and I bet there are a bunch in there that think this whole thing is a hoax and disregard the rules. I think it's a hard no from me, especially given Florida's totals, they are busting records and not in a good way.

I booked a week stay at a resort in Wisconsin Dells that has 7 indoor and outdoor water parks a couple weeks from now. Obviously masks won’t be an option for anyone, and it will likely be crowded but less than typical since they aren’t selling passes to people not staying at the resort. I figure if we haven't already had it, I’d rather get it having fun than at work or when kids school starts (Masks won’t matter much there for little kids, they won’t be as effective since hygiene is nonexistent). Never been to the Dells, but every other water park I’ve been to the chlorine/bromine is higher than probably necessary. Everything that gets wet is getting disinfected, and since it’s not soluble in water it’s constantly sanitizing the air lol.
But no I wouldn’t go to Disney and wouldn’t recommend our upcoming trip to anyone that has increased risk of a bad outcome....Last edited by Plateauplower; 07-12-2020 at 01:16 PM.

That sounds like a good time PP, I would probably be comfortable doing that (especially if I didn't live with 94) love the water slides and tube stuff, I am not one for just bobbing up and down in a pool. But anything that can give me a rush or an atomic wedgie, I am all over that. I bet you guys have a blast.Air Force Veteran 1976 - 1999 - Cannabis Enthusiast since the 1960's

Yeah, I feel bad for our kids since everything was shut down for so long, extra long “summer vacation” with less to do (we did a lot of camping, fishing, hikes, bike rides though). We will avoid being around our parents etc for a couple weeks after returning just in case. Planning to have my wife’s mom leave our house before we get home (she’s staying the week at our house to take care of the dog & guinea pig).

Yep. Looked a couple of others but that one looked best and a few people at work said it was good. Been there? We were going to drive up the night before the start of our reservation and camp a night but did not find any camping in areas I wanted (everything booked). Plus the SP fee for out if state and campsite fees are about the same as a hotel lol. I think I’ve only been in that area once 30 years ago to see House on the Rock.

I have never been there since they don't sell day passes & since I only live 30 minutes away it's sort of silly to spend the night. My kids have been there and it's their favorite in the Dells. Kalahari is another great choice as is Great Wolf Lodge but avoid Chula Vista as there are far better choices and i'm glad you didn't say it was MT Olympus as place is the epitome of a $hithole. The owner has been buying up all the small mom & pop places on the strip and slapping his name on them without doing a damn thing. Their outdoor waterpark is ok but the inside one is lame and cheaply built.

As far as Disney World goes I wouldn't go there for a couple reasons and none have to do with Covid.
#1. I hate crowds.
#2. I hate standing in lines.
#3. I think the price of $106+ per person per day is ludicrous especially when you spend 3/4 of the time in line, and yes i'm aware of their version of a fast pass which means now you need to hope you can get a spot as well as need to plan every minute of the day. And if you have little kids who have hopes of seeing the characters good damn luck as now the only places they are is shows, dinners, etc which you have to pay extra for.
#4. The rides aren't that good, I think Cedar Point is far better."You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, well, I don't have one of those."

Had a conference at the one in Florida years back, had to take my kids at least once, at first I thought it was way overpriced. I came to realize that:
-The park was spotless with no litter anywhere
-Every single ride and attraction was open and working perfectly, even the machines in the 80's arcade
-There was pop up entertainment at every turn that my kids loved
-The trams were fun AF and futuristic
-The Tower of Terror was worth an hour wait, probably my favorite ride ever
That said, with Florida recording record numbers of deaths and infections, I think it's unwise to open.
It's not a hoax folks.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Awesome. Yeah initially I almost rented a condo for Mt. Olympus from a CL listing. Glad I looked at some reviews first . We have a great wolf lodge here by six flags in Gurnee, but its canceled right now in IL. I liked that one too, it was clean and the water park was alright. I think the Wilderness will be neat just because of the variety of going to different parks during the trip. The kids have been watching youtube vids getting excited about the slides. I'm ready for a vacation...
