Tried a new hot sauce tonight.

We had Wraps tonight at work so I brought in a bottle of hot sauce I just got today, very tasty with a hell of a kick and you definitely do not want to over do it. One of my employees went just a tad bit overboard with it & she got about halfway through and we all thought she was going to die. Her face and eyes turned bright red and she could not handle anymore. I have 2 more flavors of this brand I need to try, hopefully in the next couple of days.

Lets see if that pic works?

Oh I miss so much food variety and the luxury of "try a new this" or "try a new that." In Texas I remember seeing whole shelves full of endless varieties of salsa in jars. Mango chipotle, mango habanero, tomatillo cilantro, little microbrew salsas.... Here in Thailand, even in the bigger cities, I'm lucky to get a decent salsa or even a decent tortilla. Fresh tortillas from Mexican kitchens were warm fluffy heaven.

Looks like your image didn't come through. What kind of hot sauce was it? Always looking for some new ones to try...especially if they bring the heat!

In on hot sauce. I was given some hot sauce about 3 years ago and it is 3/4 full still. Not at home now, but the name of it has “Death” in it and it lives up to it name. I put 3 drops in some guacamole as an experiment and it. Was almost not edible it was so hot, lol.

I will take a pic tomorrow night.

    Pic embed fail.

I used to have a huge assortment of hot sauces. Always loved the heat. Had some that I literally had to sign a waiver to buy them. Not sure of that was a gimmick or not, but anyway.

But I'm old now and it kills my guts. The aftermath is just not worth it anymore.

Back to the usual mundane **** like Tabasco and Franks, which aren't even hot to me.

Sweet. Save those jars after you've finished them, they'd make some pretty cool candles. Kind of like war trophies or scalps.

    Pic working for me

I used to enjoy heat for the sake of heat, but now I have Rosecea and it makes me break out.

I like sauces with some heat but also some flavor, like a smoked Habanero instead of plain old Habanero. IMO dry rubs with some heat are overlooked.

Yep same 3 set I ordered, the Shock & Awe is supposedly the hottest of the 3 but still had a very good flavor, am looking forward to trying the other ones. Been using Cholua lately and while the flavor is good I don't think there is any heat at all to this stuff.

    Thanks for the heads-up, LWW.

Just tried all three. Agree with you on Shock & Awe -- flavor is great. Tried it on some chicken and also ate a teaspoon of it to taste it by itself. Great fermented pepper flavor although only a bit of typical habenaro pepper flavor came through. Heat is legit.

Dead Red is also awesome. Different flavor compared to the Shock & Awe and noticeably less heat, but I like it just as much.

Marine Green: Good flavor, but a little unusual. Heat is mildish. A bit too much salt for my taste though, but I still want to try it on a few different things.

Also like that they didn't have flow restrictors. I hate those.

Good recommendation Corbi. I am going to enjoy these.

Just saw your post, Tom. Sorry.

Most excellent guess. You got Blair's right. It is Blair's After Death Sauce. For some reason Blair likes to use its death sauce as a metaphor.

It's hotter than Cassie-Sassie after she beat the hell out of some protester who was sleeping in her yard.

    Here it is:

I love food as spicy as you can make it. I can eat and withstand pretty much any heat level, but I dont prefer the bitterness of haberaro which is in a lot of 'hot' sauces. I have had some ghost pepper ones that are not bad, but still the flavor is lacking.

That is why when I make wings, I make my own sauce out of cayenne based sauce and I purchased pure capsaicin extract. There is nothing hotter on earth. It is the pure extract of what makes spicy things spicy. I have a little vial of it and I first start with a little butter which the extract blends well with. A VERY small amout of this will knock you on your a$$.

But you can make things that taste so good and still have the kick as well. HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who likes spicy foods. You are supposed to wear gloves and glasses when handling it, but I dont go that far. I do wash my hands a few times after handling the vial that I keep it in and that is kept within a plastic bag. One accidental touch to your face and you will feel it!

I love the flavor of habenaros. I usually grow some every summer. They don't taste bitter to me at all. They are also close to the upper limit of my heat tolerance. A couple of years back, I decided to add some ghost peppers to my tacos. Normally, I would put 3 habenaros on each one, but decided to try two ghost peppers instead. Didn't like it at all. There was so much heat that I couldn't even taste the peppers or anything else. I dig spice, but only to the degree that it complements the taste. I'm definitely not into heat for the sake of heat.

Had the Marine Green just now and agree with the saltiness but I love salt. The flavor is very good & the heat is quite low. For people who don’t like hot like the Shock & Awe this may be perfect.
