Arrow I am stuck and NEED someone to tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to improve

Hello everyone, I'm a 16 year old who's been training on and off for the past 2 years but only been taking it seriously the past year.

Recently I've become stumped and let me tell you why. I am currently at a body fat percentage of roughly 18% weighing 83kg. I train strength 5 times a week through and push/pull/leg split and also do endurence training about 3 times per week. I've been trying to cut down to a lower body fat but have had hardships along the way. I've been tracking my calories and macros and been keeping a calorie deficit of around 1200 calories per day. I've been making sure to load up most of what I eat into proteins in order to keep as much lean body mass as possible. (eating 1g per pound of body weight) And I've been doing this for months but my weight has not shifted.

I eat pretty clean making sure to eat good fats and avoiding processed sugars where possible.

I've been told that this might be due to my cortisol levels being too high but haven't gotten it tested.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you're not losing weight, you're not in a deficit. It is the dictionary definition of a deficit.
I can tell time. Time cannot tell me.

How long have you been eating at a 1200 calorie-a-day deficit? How much weight have you lost during this same amount of time?

    1. You are 16 years old. You shouldn't be at any kind of serious deficit at that age. If you want a better body composition then you should simply be more active and working out.

    2. You are not " keeping a calorie deficit of around 1200 calories per day" and not losing weight. That would be a physical impossibility. No one produces enough "cortisol" to offset a deficit of that magnitude for weeks and months on end.

If you are not losing any weight for a considerable period of time then you are just eating more than you think that you are...basically at your daily maintenance level.

Thank you for everyone's feedback. I have concluded that then this might be simply due to my maintance calories being around 900.

    That's physically impossible

Just eat healthy whole foods 3x a day at regular times and stop worrying over all this stuff.

Nobody got a good physique by starving themselves. Plenty of people got eating disorders this way though.
