    Exactly that.

For them it is always trying to find a shortcut of some sort and not actually changing their habits all that much. Even if they lose the 10 lbs they set out to lose for the 3-month period (lol) they will soon enough gain the weight back and then some.

They are easily tempted to overeat and think that 5 mins walk on the treadmill on a 2 degree incline, will reverse the crap they had just eaten which was probably 1 K or more calories and it was just a snack lol

No but seriously, I actually tried to help the goddess, she just took it the wrong way, as I think that people nowadays are ONLY used to hear good things about them and everything else is taken for negativity. Snowflakes and all...

I had a great week, hit my goal and then some and super happy with how this cut has gone so far. I’m probably going to take it another 4-5 lbs and that will be it before returning to maintenance for a while and maybe moving into a small surplus during winter. Congrats to those of you still here who are plugging away!

EDIT: hit my new goal as well apparently, am not going to set a new one before next Friday, no need for pressure this late in the process

EDIT EDIT: looking back on the numbers like this my entire cut has just been a long series of stalls and mega whooshes. Am used to a bit of that but not this much
Somehow still managing to avoid getting 'too big'

    Starting weight: 140 lbs
Goal weight: 125 lbs (initial goal was 130 lbs but made a small change to ~125 lbs instead)

July 4 2020: 140 lbs (no wt. loss but went up to 142 lbs during the week so I will consider this a progress nevertheless)
July 11 2020: 138 lbs (went as further down to 136 lbs during the week but 138 lbs has been constant)
    July 18 2020: 136 lbs
    July 25 2020: 134 lbs
    August 1 2020: 132 lbs
    August 6 2020: 130 lbs
    August 8 2020: 130 lbs
    August 15 2020: 129.8 lbs
    August 22 2020: 128 lbs
    August 29 2020: 127.5 lbs
September 5 2020: 128 lbs (went back up to wt. of Aug 22)
    September 12 2020: 126 lbs
    September 19 2020: 125 lbs
    September 26 2020:

125 lbs on the dot today. Weight fluctuated along the lines at times, and I even gained weight on weeks instead of losing it, but I managed to reach my goal in the end. I started this journey on the last 1-month thread, and I have come a long way in the ~4 months since.

I had not a clue what I was doing when I started this "journey" approximately 6 months ago, if I am to be bluntly honest. I have been overweight since the start of my adolescence, and that led to much bullying in school. I had been depressed and anxious ever since as well, but was only formally diagnosed with depression early this year after I decided to seek professional help. I was hopped up on meds because my sleep was absolutely chit-tier, and the suicidal thoughts had started to become too strong to beat. The meds and therapy I got there helped reduce my depression, but deep down I knew the weight (literally) that I had been carrying around since childhood was something I needed to change for a better life. 6 months ago, I decided to finally get on the path of weight-loss. I had no idea what I was doing, so I started by cutting out all junk food from my diet, and running as long as I could. I had no plan, and relied solely on cardio and diet to help lose weight. The results I began seeing were promising, and that encouraged/motivated me to learn more about the process. 5 months down the line, I weight-lift 3x a week, and have a healthy diet to help me maintain/reduce FAT from my body. Cardio also was essential to my routine up until a month ago, but it has not been as frequent since my knees hurt if I run too much these days. Nevertheless, I have a solid diet to help with caloric deficit, and a weight-lifting routine to retain as much muscle mass as possible.

Yesterday, I uploaded a photo on social media. I was absolutely stunned to see the responses to it: people were surprised at how much FAT I had lost and appeared muscular, and the general reactions from most people (including girls, who never used to spare me another look in school) was amazing to see.

I have not had junk food (packaged biscuits, chocolates, etc.) for the past 6 months. Fast-food (burgers, etc.) now often upsets my stomach the next day, so I don't indulge very often. I have had mostly a clean diet (except when invited by relatives, so I'll have to eat whatever they cook). I also came off my anti-depressants last month, and I have not had any suicidal thoughts as withdrawal from the meds.

This thread, and the one before, was a huge help to me in this journey. I knew I had a community holding me accountable every week, and that helped me try my best not to slip. I did slip on some weeks, but eventually I was back on the path stronger than before. Thank you very much to this community, and all the participants of this thread, for all their help and support. I truly cannot thank you enough. My life has completely changed. I no longer am the sad person I used to be.

I know there are many people on this thread who have had it worse than me, and weight-loss might not solve their problems like it did mine, but I sincerely believe that it'll solve a lot of your problems, if not all. Stay on the path, and do your best to reach your goals. It'll all be worth it in the end.

Thank you all, again. Much love and respect to everyone on this thread.

P.S. I will start a lean bulk to gain muscle in the following month after the last weigh-in for this thread. We're all gonna make it
    Negs on sight for ShaneTMI.

Bros I missed it, but started July 5th, at 172 around 18%, I'm around 11-12% now Sept 18th, 163. I'll post pics once I finish cut, but can see my entire core without flexing now. Feels good. I documented everything through Fitbit, consistently losing 1lb a week for almost 12 weeks now. The main thing that kept me consistent was a white board on my fridge and a goal to walk at least 8 miles every single day!

Not running, or jogging, or weighted, just a brisk walk in the beautiful sun, and have consistently aimed for 1900 calories at the start of my cut, now I even am eating more calories lol 1900-2200 and still losing 1lb a week.

My program is my own design so I won't post the details but it is push/pull rest legs upper lower rest, and I went from 30lb chin ups and 30lb dips (struggling) to new pr few days ago 105lb chin and dip, pull ups went from 20lbs to 75lbs for reps, so consistently gaining strength and loaded with energy the entire cut. I never neglected my food intake or macros even once.

You can't half-ass a cut, I learned that now after the third attempt... Eat mostly clean, get enough sleep, try and keep stress low, lift heavy weight but also make sure your volume is high, and get enough NEAT. Only problem is my sexual desire (the part that makes me want to go seek) is gone, but if it comes to me. I'm all over it. lol

    Stay strong bros!

Good job, but at your size there’s no way you went from 18% to 11% only losing 9 lbs, the math doesn’t compute. Either you weren’t 18% at the start or you’re not 11% now.

lol I was up there. Now I see abs without flexing at all. I lost about 11lbs. I was speaking generally. I can post the data and you can tell me

Not finished with cut yet but I made huge progress

Few days ago and let me post a pic before cut I have to get on my pc..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvsQ...ature=youtu.be Few days ago after eating over 300g of carbs 161-163lb roughly, assuming 11% I feel like I was recently 12%, but veins on abs, and no flex abs and obliques

    https://im gur.com/a/btsc4bC July 5th start of cut 172lb guessing 18% ish

I'm even leaner now, 160-161lbs ish, I can start to see deep cuts in core, but also my legs are still kinda fluffy so who knows I might just be really lucky and still around 14%

For sure it’s great progress. But its kind of what I figured, you were about 15% or so at your start.

Generally you’re going to lose about 3-5lbs to lose 1% bodyfat
All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.

Well, so goes the end of the cut. I was going to keep going down to 195 but overall I feel it was successful and I really have nothing more to gain by losing more. I'm going for a slow transition back to maintenance over the next 3-4 weeks and then back into building mode for about 5-6 months. I was starting to feel the impacts in the gym the last few weeks so it will be nice to focus on getting some more calories and getting my strength built back up.

Congrats to those of you that saw this through to the end!

Got down to 244.5 on Tuesday, so it's tempting to claim that, but weigh in day is weigh in day. Glad I did not go backwards for the whole week.

Progress is still coming along nicely though. Posted a pic from this week to my profile. I still think I'm skirting somewhat above 20%. I know it's not a relaxed pose to assess fat loss, but I wasn't originally intending to post it anyway. What do you all think?

    GOAL REACHED

    Starting weight: 140 lbs
Goal weight: 125 lbs (initial goal was 130 lbs but made a small change to ~125 lbs instead)

July 4 2020: 140 lbs (no wt. loss but went up to 142 lbs during the week so I will consider this a progress nevertheless)
July 11 2020: 138 lbs (went as further down to 136 lbs during the week but 138 lbs has been constant)
    July 18 2020: 136 lbs
    July 25 2020: 134 lbs
    August 1 2020: 132 lbs
    August 6 2020: 130 lbs
    August 8 2020: 130 lbs
    August 15 2020: 129.8 lbs
    August 22 2020: 128 lbs
    August 29 2020: 127.5 lbs
September 5 2020: 128 lbs (went back up to wt. of Aug 22)
    September 12 2020: 126 lbs
    September 19 2020: 125 lbs
    September 26 2020: 124 lbs

124 lbs throughout this week. Surpassed my goal by 1 lb. Really not much to say after reaching my goal on the dot the previous week.

Per the advice given, I will be maintaining this weight until my strength gains plateau after which I will start a lean bulk. Hopefully I'll see y'all in 6 months. Good luck to all, and take care. Great effort and achievements on everyone's part in this thread.
    Negs on sight for ShaneTMI.

I know this is a bit of a premature bump, but I weighed in tonight (after having eaten dinner) at 243.2... So, I almost hit my stated goal in the (already shortened per late entry) time period. That said, I'm going to keep this going at least another month.

Keen to join folks cutting beyond September here or in a new thread - always valued this forum in the past.

    For 2020 -

    Height - 178cm / 5'10"

    Starting weight - September 8 2020 : 95.8kg / 211.2lbs
    Current weight - September 28 2020: 91.9kg / 202.6lbs

    I weigh daily here.

Goal weight: 65-70kg / 143.3-154.3lbs - depending on how happy I am with my overall fitness / body image - and then plan is to maintain / lean gain if not happy.

Diet wise CICO has worked for me in the past so I eat any and everything except liquid calories. Have found myself in an intermittent fasting (IF) routine - lunch 12-2pm, dinner 7-9pm. I'm also a volume eater and eat 50-100kcals of celery a day, usually with my dinner.

Pullup personal best (in 2015): 15
    Current pull-ups: 4

Got a resistance band over the weekend (PTP Superband Light/Red) to get more volume in for pull-ups.

Doing the stationary bike Sunday-Thursday, 40mins on interval training, increasing the resistance whenever staying in the 70-80RPM zone feels easier.

Fridays rest day / light cardio (e.g. a 7km walk near my place). Saturday a hike / active recovery (e.g. incline brisk walk to train for some steep hikes here).

Will be restarting a beginner compound lifting program this week - Tue/Thurs/Sat. If I can be disciplined with a lifting routine for 4 weeks I will start paying attention to nutrition (e.g. protein in my diet) that will help me retain the little muscle mass I have.

    Will be starting C25k (couch to 5k) when I hit 85kg / 187.9lbs.

We could just use the same thread? Ironically enough most of the original people here didn't even finish it, so it's not like we're robbing them from anything.

I'd like to get down to 230 by the end of December I think. That's a realistic goal for 3 months and halfway there I think!
