# Thread: I Need Math Help

1. ## I Need Math Help

To date 500,000 (half a million) have died of / with / from the rona.

There are 7,800,000,000 (7.8 billion) people in the world.

Death rate is 0.006%. Calculated as follows:

500,000 / 7,800,000,000 = 0.00006

0.00006 * 100% = 0.006%

What in the name of zeuss bungholio am I missing?

So far:

We have allowed the oligarchs to collapse the global economy on 0.006% deaths?

We have allowed the oligarchs to lock us down like rats and treat us like criminals for not wearing masks?

In the near future are we going to:

Allow the oligarchs to fear us into taking their poisonous vaccine once it becomes available?

Allow the oligarchs to limit our movement if we don't have rona papers?

All because of 0.006% deaths.

If you support the narrative, you are a special kind of retard.

Aside from wearing a mask (which is not enforced anywhere here) when I go shopping, the distancing and the hand disinfection required in every store, my life hasn't changed at all. Then again, though, I live in Canada.

3. The argument was...

* If we have various measures to control spread, the infection rate can be slowed and overall deaths (probably) reduced --> and it won't be Armageddon

* We have various measures to slow spread --> and it hasn't been Armageddon

Which bit of that doesn't add up?

Edit: this doesn't mean I'm not cynical about some people trying to make financial or political gains from the situation, but that's a very different debate

4. You would calculate the mortality rate using the number of people who actually have had the disease (underreported) and those that have died with/from covid. You wouldn't use the world population, because not everyone in the world has had it...

And what is that percentage?

It's less than 5%.

You honestly believe gubmint cares about lives?

If they did, they would abolish abortion and stop bombing nations for oil. Politicians released inmates due to covid, just in time for the riots.

502,000 deaths ÷ 10,155,000 confirmed cases = 0.049 x 100 = 4.9% mortality rate

Take out deaths of those with pre existing conditions, lived in a nursing home and died bc of the Rona, not diagnosed with it, and run those numbers again boyo.

Of course they care - if everyone is dead, think what that'd do to tax revenues. Don't think I'm not cynical.

But your original post was about the math. What astonishes me is your original post, maybe I'm reading into it something that's not there but I don't think half a million deaths is a small matter even though the world's population is 7 or 8 billion. You'd need to have a heart as hard as Joe Stalin's to use that logic?

You have NO idea how many people have been infected, so your math is invalid.

LMAO Why am I afraid to google that?

Nobody knows total case counts. It continues to look better and better though now that testing is available for people who are not in high risk groups.

14. Makes me chuckle that some people will jump through hoops to minimize the Covid numbers, it is what it is. I bet that 128K+ Americans and 500K+ worldwide would love to be alive to debate the impact of Covid and discuss how it is similar to the flu.

CDC is now stating the number of infected just here in the USA could be 10x what they currently know.
Everyday just in the USA an average of 7700 people die of all causes which puts a number of dead here since the lockdowns began in mid march at around 800,000. Yet we hype the \$hit out of 125,000 over that same period when a lot of those dead folks would have died from whatever issues they had anyways. I'm not trying to minimize the deaths but you need to look at them realistically and in the grand scheme numbers such as 125,000 or 500,000+ globally are very small numbers.

Nothing much gets by sy. If you Google the antonym of shy, the result is 'sy.'

Not always true, many older folks say they’d rather die of COVID than see it destroy freedom.

The singer from Van Halen is one ‘em, not DLR, the second guy. He wants to die cause he can’t perform for an audience.

I don’t blame them, id also want one last good PR deadlift before catching Covid at the gym and dying.

Not exactly correct, its Sammy Hagar and he is opening up Cabo Wabo again and said he will perform and said basically he is going to live his life and if the virus gets him Oh Well. Didn't say he wants to die because he can't perform.

Thanks, I only heard it in passing from the talk, it was funny cause I hate that show and they all didn’t give Sam a hard time, yet they all seem to want to judge everyone, and that’s even funnier being as one of em is actually married to Satan himself!

So you heard something in passing and then preach it here as it's gospel? See this is the kind of stuff the previous meme is referring to, you talking out your ass.

Actually the “talk” made it sound more like how I described.

They said he was sad and couldn’t perform and would rather just die, that’s the chit I heard in passing.

So, go grow a RICHARD there stumpy!

So the gubmint doesn't care about lives, but half a million -- and growing -- people dying of a preventable disease is fine with you.

Are you the gubmint?

The talk? Suppose you watch soap operas too? Do you knit? How many cats do you have?

So because of the millions of people who die of car accidents every year, and you don't minimize millions of deaths, you gave up on driving altogether, amirite?

If vehicles were suddenly driving themselves off a cliff and potentially spreading that behavior to other transportation vehicles I'd sure as **** think twice about driving. And if they said my car would be fine because it's the least likely model to do this but could potentially infect others vehicles unless I put a little tree air freshener on my rear view mirror I'd most defiantly do that (unless it was a botanical fragrance, that **** drives me crazy). What I wouldn't do is compare driving w/ something unrelated. So no you're not amirite.

Oh, and good job proving his point looking to minimize Covid. /thumbsup

This made me chuckle as well...

Oh you must be one of those people who think acknowledging an actual indisputable fact must mean you like it/approve of it/want more of it to happen. You know like

"people of every race are killed by the cops each year"
"so you LIKE that black people get killed by the cops, you don't see anything wrong with it, you don't think we should do anything about it, you racist!"

"a lot of people die in car accidents every year, this doesn't prevent us from driving"
"so you don't give a chit that people die every year, if it was for you there would be more!"

Never go full potato, son.
