Ni No Kuni 2 was fun. Building the kingdom and recruiting characters to make it bigger/better was awesome. The story does get a little childish and the main character is pretty annoying though. If you like rpgs it’s definitely worth getting. Wasn’t a fan of Code Vein. It’s like a worse version of Dark Souls with anime.

Only one I know of that everyone talks about is Witcher 3. My friends all bought it earlier this year and absolutely loved it. Even ones who hate RPG's are into the game.

Only reason I didn't get it yet was because I heard it's a "long" game to play through. May want to start it around mid-July to August.

It is. Without the expansions, it's about 50 hours if you don't do any side missions. But it's 50 of the best hours you'll ever spend playing a video game.

Since this is what I've been playing for the past... damn, a long while, and now the Iceborne expansion, Monster Hunter World is $19.79, so for anyone on the fence, it's certainly not lacking for value.
The gameplay is extremely varied between all of the weapons, and while it definitely could use some fine tuning, there is something special about giving a fire-breathing wyvern a concussion with a giant, f*ck-off hammer (I highly recommend grabbing the blood efx mod for blood effects on attacks + bleeding broken parts).

My #1 suggestion that I cannot stress enough is do not use the "Defender Armor" that the game offers as a startup option. It's overpowered as hell, with the caveat being that you won't figure out how to actually play the game, resulting in the experience deficit creeping up and kicking your ass. Take your time, play around with the weapons, and learn the ins and outs because the game has a pretty good difficulty curve if you play it normally.

The only time to make Defender Weapons is for the end game of base MHW. Slap on some health augments (heals you per hit) and if you get the expansion, that alone will be a godsend and make up for any loss of damage compared to Master Rank weapons.

As for the expansion... it might look like it's a new snow locale, but it's actually pure cocaine, and all of the monsters are hopped up on that good sh*t for the new difficulty tier. Meanwhile, the player character is dragging ass on horse tranquilizers, so balance seems to have been thrown out the window in favor of masochistic try-hards who enjoy the boss fight equivalent of being a power bottom.

Unless you're on the Monster Hunter autism spectrum or willing to mod the game, I'd say start with the base game first since there is more than enough game to last you until the next Steam sale if you take your time.

Now, if you are willing to mod your game, it is actually surprisingly easy to get into, and more importantly, you can easily modify many game parameters that govern everything from player health, stamina, and even movement speed, which really helps against the aforementioned coked up monsters problem. If anything Iceborne has led to a surge in modding, and the MHW Editor (used to edit the parameter files) is consistently being updated with new parameters to change. So even if you've tried and couldn't get into it for whatever reason, there is always a second chance by modding the problems away.

Sekiro is frustrating. A lot different from Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Not liking it as much as the other from soft games. Doom Eternal is not as much fun as the 2016 game so far. I hate that they tell you when a new enemy is coming and the whole spam chainsaw for ammo thing is annoying. Greedfall is pretty good so far.

Thinking about picking up AC Origins and Odyssey and Remnant From The Ashes
I'm waiting for a bigger discount on Sekiro because such a big part of what I find fun about the other souls games is that you can replay with different builds, characters, weapons, armors, ect.

If you're finding it exceedingly frustrating, you can always check out the mods, specifically the gameplay mods alongside the Utilities.

Sekiro uses the same engine as Dark Souls 3, and from my experience with DS3, modifying is pretty easy as far as parameter modding goes, but you can also download and merge multiple parameter mods people have already uploaded with the param merger under the utilities.
So for a basic example of what I mean by parameter editing, you can change the number of iframes or other elements in the game dictated by number values.

Doom Eternal is another game I've resigned myself to waiting for a deep sale.

Id's "combat chess" approach and strict ammo restriction comes across to me like a sledgehammer solution when the root of the problem was simply how so much of the arsenal and mods were underwhelming if not outright inferior. This was only exacerbated by the sharing of ammo pools, so I honestly don't know what the f*ck they were thinking with lowering ammo all over instead of just splitting it up sensibly.
I mean, yeah I'm going to abuse the gauss cannon and never use the plasma rifle if the latter sucks balls, sounds like a toy, and it uses up my gauss ammo to boot.

And I stand by the opinion that the new chainsaw loop is just reloading with different steps, but instead of stopping to reload, you stop to go find a trash mob to saw. Again, with the sledgehammer but kind of the opposite problem seen in Etermal; people didn't chainsaw in Doom 2016 because (1) chainsaw fuel didn't regenerate like in Eternal, and (2) it was better saved for a tougher enemy as a result of the fuel scarcity.

Personally, the stock chainsaw animation lost its fun factor because it is fundamentally another glory kill that you have no real input over. The game that really soured me on Doom's chainsaw was Shadow Warrior 2, which is my go-to recommendation for Doom-like shooters (and it should be a bargain now). The best way to describe the chainsaw(s!) in SW2 is that you can aim the swing or ram it right into the enemy to cause ticks of damage, but how you control the aim can be the difference between a few ticks or really making the most out of the swing and grinding into the enemy. Treating the chainsaws as actual weapons with that extra layer of player input and learning really made the difference, so I was disappointed to see that not only the chainsaw, but the sword in Eternal are still canned.

That out of the way, I do think things are looking a lot brighter already for Doom Eternal because mods are emerging that address issues like the pussified melee damageunused level 2 fuel tier (prowler, carcass, revenant, whiplash, and maykr zombies use 2 ticks instead of 3) , and gay pride chainsaw loot.

I'll let you know if I wind up picking up Remnant from the Ashes; it's gotten good reviews, although what I put off was that you can't hipfire (?!?). You either melee enemies or have to aim down sights to fire, which I'm not sure I could get used to since that pretty much goes against the muscle memory engrained to handle every modern shooter in existence. Worthabuy's review brought that up, but he was also very enthusiastic about it, and considering that it was never set out to be some $60 AAA title, I'm not completely off the train.

I just picked up "The Witcher 3" GOTY edition. Has everything, all DLC etc. It's going to be some wild times. Only $20, I mean I just had to lol.

The problem is I don't have time to buy and play everything I want but I am sure this will give me plenty of gaming hours.

They give you extra incentive with more discounts @ certain threshold and that point system, I mean I could easily just throw a few hundred dollars and download the world but I would never be able to play it all.

    *EDIT*

As I scroll up I see someone bought Sonic Generation for $1, I see it's 95% off so I am like "Oh well, I have to get that too". And so the rabbit hole begins lol.

I went slow doing all the side quests and chit and still not finished the main story line, though very close. Steam says 100 hours over the course of like 6ish months.

The DLC is integrated into it so you can play those quests too before finishing the main though you have to be pretty high leveled to play it so close to the end anyways.

Mankind Divided was solid 9/10. Fuking loved it. My one and only complaint was it was too short.

Well, yeah, I would say in the category of open world single player fantasy it's the currently the best I've played. It makes the Oblivion series a bit embarrassing.

The detail in everything, even just reading all the posters, books, pamphlets. The extensive voice acting, animations, and all the cut scenes is like you're watching moves on their own.

I am like 40 hours in level 14 and just having the time of my life. I read up a little on builds and just general stuff so I wouldn't be gimped, but I am playing about 90% blind. I am doing a combat build first then I will supplement it going into alchemy. I'll probably leave signs alone for another playthrough.

I hear you can also replay new game+ where you keep your level. Maybe in the future when I am done with my first playthrough I'll do this and crank it up to the highest difficulty but by then Cyberpunk will be out.

Just roaming around and looting everything is a game on it's own, the currency actually feels like it matters to. I have so many side quests and contracts still, I am going back even though they don't give much XP purely because it's a story driven game.

Also I've never seen better dynamic weather environments, they have so many variations of all weather types that also look stunning. So many times I'll just stop and looking around at all the detail.

There are SOME negatives, like the world map takes too long to load, jumping is awkward AF even on small ledges etc but still it's a 9+/10 game.

I'm definitely going to look into it. They remind me of back when GTA used to have charm, except they don't appear to have lost it.

Agree with everything you said about Doom.

Is the Monster Hunter combat similar to the Souls games? I know the setup of the game is like God Eater (accept missions from your hub to kill boss monsters over and over again) but I'm looking for a Souls like combat to play.

My current haul from the Steam Sale:

    -Outer Wilds
-Subnautica: Below Zero (going to wait for 1.0 release to play it - the original Subnautica is one of my all-time favorite games)
-Remnant from the Ashes - My bro and I have really been enjoying the co-op campaign of this one. Very solid game, I'd equate it to the love child of Left 4 Dead and Dark Souls 3 w/ co-op.

However I end up losing my patience during the planning phase and instead of stealing a waiters outfit and poisoning a cocktail hoping that the target will drink it, I end up just walking up and shooting them in the head, after which I run away, try to lose the guards, and then change my outfit.

I got hitman 2 in humble bundle and absolutely loved it 9only wish there was more levels. I wish I can get the dlc for cheap but I think dlc only adse 2 levels.

Only game so far I got is wreckfest and it's a blast highly recommended.
