8. Russian military hackers may have followed Trump’s July 27, 2016 public statement “Russia if you’re listening …” within hours by targeting Clinton’s personal office for the first time.

Not saying that Russia would not love to turn A-Stan into a endless quagmire for the U.S. but I don’t think it makes sense for Russians go shoot themselves in the foot in trying to helplessly convinced the Taliban to prolong the U.S. presence in the country. That is bound to fail and lead to bad PR. The Taliban have already denied ever engaging Russians. The Taliban have a deal working well for them, they do not have any incentive to attack U.S. troops because the U.S. basically quit that war and is slowly leaving.
