I know what ya'll gonna say; GT3 RS is a no brainer, but there are something I prefer about the GT3.
1. Transmission: You can get it in a 6spd manual, which is not possible for the GT3 RS
2. Price: Depending on specs it can be upwards of 60k more for the GT3 RS, which is A LOT more.
3. Power: The GT3 is 500HP 309ftlb TQ, the GT3 RS is 520HP and 347TQ, which really isn't that much of a difference when you compare the price between the two.
What I do like about the GT3 RS
1. Prestige: Yes, I know it's very pompous, but having a superish car like this which only had about 1,500 made world wide feels special.
2. It's a year newer, I know it the grand scheme of things a year doesn't matter, but it's still 1 more year of warranty.
That's about it.

It's definitely not a no-brainer. It's a question of what things mean more to you and do they justify the $60k+ price difference. If you care about pure performance, I don't think it's worth it as you could easily do a few mods to get that 20hp. If you care about exclusivity, resale value, collectability, etc then you have to ask yourself if those things are worth it.
Personally I love the look of the RS with the fender vents and the whole race car theme. Those touches really set it apart from the rest of the 911 family which really look pretty bland imo and have very very few differences (looks wise) across the whole model range.

Was having this chat yesterday with one of my friends with his gt3. He was on the fence with manual and PDK but decided to go to the pdk route and now wishes he would have gotten the RS. Said the manual part isn't really important to him after owning a pdk.

The GT3 RS is the kind of car a well off and experienced track guy buys. If that's not you then you just spent a lot of $ so people will sometimes say "Cool, GT3 RS".
I've driven the GT3 with a manual, its a friggin awesome back road car. If I didn't already have an Evora 400 I would consider one.
If you want to go really fast on the highway there are better choices.
If you want to turn heads, go fast, sound like the god of thunder and not end up in the woods a used Huracan with a supercharger and exhaust is about as good as it gets. A modified used Huracan is about the same price as a new GT3 RS.Eat in a deficit to lose weight.

Only an RS if this is a car primarily going to be used for tracking.
Personally I am pulling the trigger on a 911 soon and I am between a Turbo S and a GT3. They are both incredibly fast and look great, I am just really trying to figure out if back seat and creature comforts are worth it, or if I want a better sounding high revving motor that is less comfortable. RS is not worth the price premium IMO unless its primarily going to be tracked - even then its iffy.535 deadlift.

I was actually thinking of buy a new 2020 718 GT4 so I could get on the list for a 992 GT3 when ever that's released.
