People are so consumed with Trump hate they can’t even see normal things logically and rationally anymore.
This is something many of those people would normally quickly comprehend.
Being able to identify and respond to as many positive cases as we can on a large scale is a good thing.“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.”

It's because there are two main strains - an Asian and a European strain and the European strain is far deadlier. In the US the European strain seems to have hit NY/NJ while the Asian strain was present in central/south/west parts of the US.

Ahh the March and April strain study excuse as to why Europe is doing so much worse on every metric.
https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.29.069054v2.full
Got an update now that we are 2 months past that with much more information, travel, cross transmission, etc?
Is the fatality rate by strain equivalent to the difference?
Why was Germany so significantly better?
I think you know the answer....
And none of that is answering why they suck so much at identifying cases.
At some point you have to stop the excuses of why they’re worse and see the reality...“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.”

The Problem With Stories About Dangerous Coronavirus Mutations
There’s no clear evidence that the pandemic virus has evolved into significantly different forms—and there probably won’t be for months.
ED YONG
MAY 6, 2020
Even if it is , and has consistently remained the case 2 months later...
The fact that fatality rate is higher because certain healthcare systems suck doesn’t necessarily mean that strain is deadlier - it just means the healthcare systems sucks
Germany’s a much better modern version of “me first” nation healthcare wtb a dirty national capitalism twist - and their cars....
That’s why they are better“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.”

yeah, that must be why they are re-opening many EU countries for tourism and travel again and starting to get back to normal. clearly they're all in denial and clueless and the big brain americans are the only ones who have this figured out.
i wonder. do you enjoy playing a caricature online? I know you're just playing the part of the stereotypical clueless southerner who views individual points of data in a vacuum without consideration for context or consensus and draws erroneous conclusions as a result. however...
...is that enjoyable for you? it's rather irresponsible to play your schtick and dupe the gullible rubes on this forum who can actually harm themselves and others by ingesting your tripe.
I mean, you'd have to be an anti-social sadist to knowingly spread misinformation about a deadly pandemic and derive entertainment value from it. that can't be you, can it?It's hard to win an argument with a smart person. First off, I’ve aknloweged this virus is dangerous...
So let’s recap here.
This thread was about US vs Europe in regards to the covid pandemic response - not about Uplaying or downplaying the virus.
You started that thread - and started it in your op with just 1 single data point - and a premise that the higher level of that 1 single data point is US vs Europe response as a bad thing- and some kind of a single data point gotcha...
And when the exaggerate important of that data point with the implied assumption it’s a negative to the US response by comparison you carried on.
And yet you have the audacity to make this statement about me after that stretch.. “ who views individual points of data in a vacuum without consideration for context or consensus and draws erroneous conclusions as a result.“
So I came in challenging that - and even insinuating Identify more cases could be a good thing.
And then I continued with more data - understand this is in context of comparing Europe to the us
I including
- per capita Death reared
-per capita testing rate comparisons
-total test
-relevant test arguments
-case fatality rates
You came in with another data point of % or population and % of total deaths
I counted that with a relevant comparable European nation data point showing them worse.
I showed by almost every metric us is doing better - and in addition made my argument that our identifying cases is better.
Then you came in with a defensive approach explaining why US was better with the stain argument.
I gave both my argument against it - as well I cited an experts argument against the very study you cited.
Yet I’m expressing misinformation....
I’m not sure why it bothers you the US is doing better - you don’t even have to correlate that with a politician you hate —-
We are just systematically better in so many ways - from capacity and our unique abilities in areas that haven’t succumbed to mass transport and other population density creating policies.“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.”

By in large that’s what the unbiased data overwhelmingly shows at this point, as well as the trend going foward.
That may change - and new information or studies in the future may show something different.
What’s really amazing to me, and a interesting example of human psychology in propaganda, is how the media has so successfully spinned the narrative from reality to something different....
When all the real information is right in front of everyone.
It goes to show how you can exploit people uncontrolled emotional hate towards a group or person(in this case hat toward trump) with the use of propaganda to get an entire population to believe in a skewed reality.
Hitler as a master at that.“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.”

Good to know where you really stand.
I was right that you're Dorich's alt account.
I'll treat both of your accounts the same way now. As unserious parody accounts. In other words, maybe good for a laugh or two but never to be taken seriously, and almost never to respond to.

Update:
Comparable western block nations Population 423,055,083 5.3% of world population
Corona deaths 177,272 19.08% World Corona deaths
United States Population 328,200,000 4.21% of world population
United States Corona deaths 194,530. 20.94% of deaths
Noteworthy that since June the EU nations in your grouping added only 3,862 deaths while the US added 64,427 deaths.
In the time period from June 30 to Sept 15, the US outpaced the EU in new deaths by 170% !
Clearly the EU knows what they are doing and despite being an alliance of nearly 20 distinct countries with independent governments, they are doing a better job of a coordinated response on covid than the USA with only one government.
care to check back in come end of december? Hint - you won't like the end of year stats any more than these. It's hard to win an argument with a smart person. It's damn near impossible to win an argument with a stupid person. - Bill Murray
