I agree. If we don't stay isolated, and it's absolutely true that we can't do that indefinitely, then masks are the only realistic option for keeping the incidence from spiking quickly and overwhelming the healthcare system.

because it's relevant to understanding how data is analyzed and used to draw conclusions and make business decisions. there is no "one metric fits all" approach and even when analyzing the same problem you can look at both per capita numbers as well as raw numbers and other various analyses as there are learnings when looking at different slices and segments of the data.

if you were in a career where this kind of analysis was done like management consulting or business analysis or technology, etc - you would see the value of this sort of analysis.
if you're not in that kind of career you'll whine and complain about "changing to fit the narrative hurr durr" and just expose your lack of knowledge of the topic

A lot of people are confused about releasing prisoners because of COVID. It SEEMS from the outside looking in that being in prison would be a controlled environment where they can demand protocols are followed, demand separation of people and quickly detect and isolate those that are infected.

This isn't to say that that is the way it really is, but to many people it doesn't add up.
