Is it cheaper to get protein powder with BCAA in it or buy whey and BCAA separately?

A) All protein has amino acids and most sources have all three branched chain aminos. If you're meeting your macro daily you're getting plenty of amino acids including leucine, isoleucine and valine.
B) More != beneficial.
C) Time and again supplementing free-form amino acids, of any type, orally has been shown to do dick in healthy individuals.
D) Amino acids have calories, so yes, they would end a fasted state. Not that being fasted or otherwise means anything in the context of body comp goals.
TLDR. Using free-form amino acids if redundant and pointless if you're meeting your macro. If you aren't meeting your macro, fix that with full-spectrum amino proteins.
