    My new C7 Z06

    Sold my F30 335i a few months ago and picked up this 2016 C7z with 19k miles. So far I've done Kooks x pipe with rear cat/resonator delete, and the stage 3 spoiler with wickerbill. Will lower soon on the stock bolts and probably a tune with pulley in the future. Right now it's a huge upgrade in power going from about 380whp to this which is probably around 550whp. I was originally debating between this car and an M2 competition with DCT. I felt like the M2 was too similar to my 335i to justify changing cars. Also the power difference is pretty significant. One of my favorite things on the vette is the removable top. Nice basically having a convertible without the traditional ugly convertible shape/look

    Question though... C7 Z06's only make 380whp stock? If true, that explains a lot.

    No no, I was saying my 335i only made 380whp. Don't get me wrong it was pretty quick and I even ran a 12.3 1/4 mile. The C7z is around 550whp

    Congrats on the Z.

    M7 Z's make on average around 580-590rwhp, higher torque numbers oddly. The LT4 is a torque monster. Around 425ft lbs of torque AT IDLE. Yes at idle. It's an insane engine.

    I went with the borla x-pipe on mine because i want that "raw" sound as opposed to the exotic sound a corsa or other brands give.

    Our cars breathe pretty damn good already so not much power gains from exhaust mods unless you go for 2" long tubes. The stock exhaust manifolds flow very good. People see around 8-15rwhp gain from x-pipe alone. So if your car is healthy, you're probably around 590rwhp.

    Car is a beast. Do a couple of bolt on mods and you'll be well over 600rwhp. In a car like ours, with low aero and the M7 long ass gears, not much will touch you on the highway.

    Which is another thing, if you like to roll race, remove that stage 3 wickerbill. It's like throwing a parachute at 125+

    Enjoy the car. It's amazing.

    Mirin'. C7 has a better, more harmonious look than the C8 to me (they still did well with the C8, though, and it's hard exactly to compare a mid vs rear engine). How's it drive?

    The x pipe made a huge difference, I love it. And I've noticed a decrease in gas mileage with the wickerbill. I love the look but I might remove it.

    I love the look of both honestly. It drives amazing! I test drove my first one on the day I test drove an M2 comp. It handles as well as my brother's 997.2 911 I'd say.

    I live right by there so I am always cruising around in this or riding the Grom to the beach (so much easier with parking on the weekend there, I just throw it by the bike racks lol)

    I agree. The stingray looks a little lame with the less aggressive styling. But the grandsport and of course z06 with the wider body looks very aggressive cruising down the street

    You probably experienced it already but turn rev match on and go do some spirited driving and then downshift to get high rpm downshifts. The sound is INSANE. It literally sounds like a freaking jet. That's how you know our stock exhaust flow well, adding an xpipe just enhances that and putting long tubes takes it up a notch. But IMHO no sense getting long tubes if you're relatively close to stock. Now if you upgrade the blower and run E85, then yes long tubes. Honestly the wickerbill doesn't look good, that's why i didn't install one.

    However I did install the stage 3 front splitter with the winglets. Made the stage 1 "poverty" splitter look.....well like poverty lol.



    Red was not my first choice but the price and everything made sense. I love the color now that I own it.
    Red was my 2nd choice of color but because i was coming from a red C6, i wanted to try something new. So i got the arctic white with the CF accents, black wheels with the red guts. Chit is fresh. Looks, every phucking where. I know you're experiencing that too lol. Feels good right?? haha


    As far as resale, i hope you didn't get this car as an investment. I believe it's going to be a toss up when the C8 z06 comes out that determines how well our cars survive this market.

    It'll either stabilize or possibly go slightly up for the manuals (since the C8's only come in auto).

    OR, it'll plummet, then stabilize at a certain point because the C8 z06 will be just too good, that no one will really be interested in C7 z06's anymore. Apart from those who wanted one years ago but couldn't afford it, and then now they can with the depreciation.

    borla atak exhaust w/ corsa mid pipe. Sound is actually pretty close to the NPP I had on it but definitely louder at higher RPM's.

    +1 on going into rev match mode and downshifting while throttling. sounds insanely good.

    I was thinking how to make the exhaust sound better, I could do ARH racing headers for the high flow cats but it seems like I'm maxxed out other than that.

    You need to cam the car in order to have a great exhaust sound.

    You could do long tubes and high flows or catless and it'll definitely sound good.

    But NOTHING beats a cammed LS/LT engine. It is the most glorious V8 sound ever.

    But idk man, no offense but if i had a GS, i'd get a procharger. The C7s are too damn nice to be underpowered. Idk if you ever drove a z06 but once you do, you're gonna understand why.

    I’d be very interested if they offered a manual transmission. I hope they change their minds on only offering autos on the c8s. It is a deal breaker for any toy to me. I don’t even want autos for my DD
