    Difference between...

For example a squat 3x6/8 hard heavy weight
    Vs
Leg extension 15 reps 6 seconds up 6 seconds down for example
    Tut vs heavy weight basically

Both can lead to hypertrophy and muscle growth, but the squat will build much more strength and not needlessly tax the patellar tendon.

You're asking several questions at the same time.

One relates to compounds vs isolation muscle activation

The other relates to rep ranges and tension

    Another relates to tempo

Not sure what you can learn from this or how I can frame a useful answer.

Essentially what I should have said is does big weights build muscle just as effectively as lighter reps and longer contractions

^ Fixed it for you - and yes. What matters is the total number of hard sets - the weight use will work within a wide range. It becomes more important to get closer to failure with lighter weights and higher reps - but slowing the tempo artificially is not the best way.
