He was stopped because it wasn't his job. The officer in charge that stopped him looked like he was calling in for the medic I'm assuming. You can hear the gal officer officer a little later telling the camera man that a medic had been called. That's pretty damn quick considering they are in the middle of a riot...
Well meaning, elderly man with a poor memory...

06-05-2020, 10:24 AM #142Fact: My first-generation uncle was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Robinson! He also fought in the war, sacrificing the career he deeply loved, so people could have the right to freedom.
Let's show RESPECT for the POLICE and ALL FIRST RESPONDERS by helping to keep THEM SAFE AND SOUND, and thereby able to PROTECT US!

The fact that you think I'm acting to irrationally that I should "seek help" says a lot more about you than me. This is about how cops act in America. In other countries they are helpful and use violence as a last resort. Here we have a frail old man pushed to the ground and the guy who pushed him looks down at him without showing any concern, then another officer attempting to help him is stopped from doing so.
That's not what I want to see from the people I'm giving huge power to in order to keep me safe.

BREAKING NEWS: 57 cops RESIGN from Buffalo police team in 'disgust' over the 'treatment' of two cops who were suspended for pushing a peace activist, 75, to the floor as department opens a criminal investigation
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...an-ground.html
All 57 officers on the Buffalo Police Department's Emergency Response Team resigned from the squad on Friday in support of two colleagues who have been suspended and are under investigation
The two officers were suspended without pay after footage showed them knocking 75-year-old Martin Gugino to the ground in front of Buffalo's City Hall in upstate New York on Thursday night
The officers haven't resigned from the Department - only the Emergency Response Team they were on
Gugino, a longtime peace activist from Amherst, is in a serious but stable condition following the incident that saw him crack his head open and left him lying in a pool of his own blood
Footage shows one officer pushing him with a baton while another shoves him with his hand
The elderly man staggers before falling backward, and the sound of a crack is heard as he hits his head
Buffalo Police initially released a statement saying a person 'was injured when he tripped and fell' before later announcing the officers had been suspended pending an investigation
New York Gov. Cuomo on Friday called for the city to fire and charge the two officers involved
He also slammed other officers for walking by as he lay bleeding and unconscious in the street
Excellent long article with many pics and info in the link above.

He tripped because an officer pushed him.
And no, you can't ignore the fact that he's old and frail when judging use of force against him. It's kind of a big deal - hence the outrage. If he as an NFL linebacker people would respond very differently. The bias in your post is really coming through too when you say he was "rushing up" on them while just the sentence above you say he's not physically capable enough to even take a step backwards in real time.

Jesus fuk bro, we get it, you think they used too much force. Get a life, m8. Obviously, those 57 officers feel like they are being unfairly judged by Monday Morning Quarterbacks. Should someone else have knelt down? Maybe, but that's also how lawsuits get formed in this sue-happy country.
"It's bad enough that you shoved me, which I'm suing for, but then your officer moved my head unneccesarily and created an additional issue and so I'm also suing for that".
They called EMS and the National Guardsman, who is not allowed to interfere with Law Enforcement procedure applied treatment. Unfortunate that that's how it has to be but years of lawsuits and years of having to cover your own ass is why we're where we are. Do I think an officer could have knelt down and applied aid? Yeah sure, but that's not procedure. Procedure is to continue with the line, while your officer calls EMS and monitors the situation. EMS shows up and takes care of the medical side of the situation. It's no different than rolling up on a crime scene, you need to wait for medical to show up to handle their end, while the police handle their end. At this point you're just in here to be inflammatory to anyone who is telling you "that's procedure".***Mariah Carey is my 10/10 Crew***
