SARS (SARS-1) quietly faded away and didn't have a second spike. Spanish Flu (1918) had several spikes. So will COV-SARS-2 (covid19) have an big spike in the fall and repeatedly so until we have herd immunity? (either by exposure or by vaccination). At this moment nobody actually knows

Because getting these educated guesses wrong could lead to large numbers of deaths, public health officials are obligated to consider the more pessamistic scenarios.

So we end up with public health (quite rightly) planning and discussing this based on pessamistic assumptions - which conflicts with the super optimistic people who are correct to point out the pessamism is assumption and not based on proven fact

I know that cases does not mean sick, but until you can tell me *who will and who won't*, we have to assume that all might be the Italian, strain in our personal dealings.
I just read that there are *14 strains and it is mutating* so which of the 14 is the bad one, can you tell me, can we identify it b4 we come into contact with it?

It's sad that you don't even promote that the ratio of deaths with the cases has dropped dramatically, in a situation where this thing is here and not gonna go away, it's actually pretty good news. If it were up to you the spike from Memorial day weekend would of dragged on slowly for the next 2 months, which does absolutely nothing.

My fiance, Christina, has to be tested today because she has a co-worker who tested positive and he sits right next to her and they work closely on a daily basis. Fortunately he has been out sick for a week now, so we only have to sweat it out another week or so.

When it hits this close to home, I believe most people's attitudes will change. I'm not overly concerned, but it is scary if I allow myself to think too hard about it.

It was in his data dump section, towards the end and there was no agenda visible to me other than here is where the cases are happening.
The issue i feel is where you may want to be a bit more aware and who has more active cases. We were overly careful and are just entering phase 2 because our numbers were higher for longer.

I feel for you, maybe she was exposed to a weaker strain or mutation that won't cause you both much grief.
