How mad are people going to be when its realized that democucks overreacted to Corona

In another week or two, when there isn't a massive spike in deaths or overwhelmed hospitals, are people going to realize that the democucks just wanted to prolong the stay at home orders and hurt small businesses, while demonizing those who wanted to save their livelihoods?

Yes, that is expected. But what the Coronacels were saying is that we were going to be facing mayhem all around if we re-opened too soon.

More and more people going to start realizing that the democucks really wanted to prolong an order that wasn't necessary. Going to be interesting.

Coronavirus is still killing ~1000 per day. To put that in perspective, other enveloped viruses like influenza and other coronavirus are practically gone by this time of year. Influenza kills <50 people a day during the summer. CV is killing at 20x the rate of influenza right now, just like it was at its peak.

Flu season's over bro... don't ya know?

Seriously though, I had a guy tell me that his elderly father NEVER gets sick and that forcing him to stay home was hurting his immune system.. and that the proof would be when he gets a cold after he's allowed to leave the house. True retarded story is true.

Actually numbers are picking back up. Unfortunately I suspect we got a lot more dying to do, but we can't close down the economy forever.

I'm not denying it's more harmful than the flu to the old and sick, but the democucks were taking a very narrow approach to how we should deal with it, which was, just keep staying home regardless of lower risks to the young and healthy.

I agreed with the initial approach to combat it. But once it started becoming clear it was mostly bingocels and vapecels dying from it, we needed to pivot on our strategy. But democucks seemed more than comfortable to keep damaging the economy. When we have a clearer view of things in a few weeks, I think there's going to be a lot of answering to do.

How would you have handled things differently? And please keep in mind trump and his task force recommended many if not all of the measures taken by the “democucks”. Your OP makes it seem like you conveniently forgot that point already.

If you read the op and the other posts itt, you'll see I agreed with the initial measures taken to combat the virus. What I don't agree with is the desires by the democucks to prolong the orders to stay home, lockdown, etc, while republicans wanted to move on to re-opening.

If there isn't a catastrophic spike in deaths and hospitals being overwhelmed in a few weeks, it's going to look real bad on the democucks who wanted to stretch out the fear mongering.

First step would have been to keep covid+ patients out of nursing homes. That would have cut the death toll drastically.

I thought the same thing in April, made a poll about it and ended up being exponentially wrong (I thought 7-10K deaths by May 1, it ended up 50K).

Hopefully you're right but my guess is that we will see a huge spike in infections, I just hope it doesn't overrun any hospitals so everyone who needs ER can get it.

Again, conveniently forgetting that the trump task force’s own guidelines for reopening meant most states should not have begun opening until we were well into May. Just want to keep you honest with where you should be placing blame.

We will definitely see a huge spike in infections. Hopefully people have gotten smarter about not coughing on their grandparents when they go to visit them or just not visit them at all. Would help a lot. If hospitals get overrun, it's because a lot of them let a lot of the Tik Tok nurses go due to a lack of patients.

Pretty much this. The excuse is always, "well, if we hadn't done anything, it would have been even worse" or "the fact that it's not as bad as we thought it would be proved our policies saved lives"

Trump's guidelines wasn't mandatory. He was placing the responsibility on the governors, which was a real smart move on his part. But when a lot of business owners wanted to open up sooner, it was the governors of those states that were dictating the process. A lot of them, including the governor in my state, were doing it in phases. It was also the governors who decided to fine people and businesses. Nobody is going to blame Trump for that. It all lies on the governors.

I'm on both sides. Hindsight, the virus wasn't apocalyptic. But it definitely did save a lot of bingocels and vapecels that we took the measures we did. But after a while, when it became clear that a lot of people could go back to work and shop, while quarantining the old and sick, everybody should have been on the same page. But it did seem like some people, mainly politicians, wanted to extend the orders for as long as they could while shaming, punishing those who wanted to fight for their livelihoods.

So why create the task force and the guidelines in the first place? The only “real smart move” was to position himself in a way that trumpcucks like you could perform some sort of mental gymnastics to place the blame somewhere else. The responsibility falls on trump as much as it does any governor. Refusing to admit that shows how biased your feelings are.

It's like you didn't read anything I wrote. Trump took the right political stance. Used the experts to push a guideline, while putting the responsibility on the governors.

Ultimately, the blame will lie on the governors because they're the ones deciding to lead the process in their own states and they're also the ones punishing people who don't abide. You can get mad that it's a sneaky political move on Trump's part, but at the end of the day, it's the lefty governors who wanted to prolong the lockdowns, etc. So they're the ones who will be answering questions when it becomes clear the virus isn't as apocalyptic to the young and healthy.

Also, Trump has been pushing for the re-openings to continue and that there will not be another shutdown regardless of infection rates and death spikes. That was the narrative he took. It's the lefty governors who continued to fear monger.

It wasn’t sneaky. His intention to deflect blame and undermine his experts for the sake of his own image was obvious from the start. Trumpcucks bought it and continued to suck farts from his ass and the rest of the country has trashed him for continuing to lack leadership. Lol at believing this is some sort of 7D chess. It’s the same game he always plays. He’s a terrible president.

They will likely just go with what's said by the so-called experts on CNN talking out of their ass.
