Walking outside your home without a mask could become expensive in Miami, which on Thursday ushered in a new ordinance that can fine people up to $500 for failing to cover their mouth and nose while in public.

People without masks in public will first be issued a verbal warning, while a city worker will provide them with a free mask, the city said on its website. The next offense carries a $50 fine, while a third offense costs $150. A fourth offense will carry a fine of $500 — and a promise to appear in court, according to the Miami Herald, which noted that the city won't send unpaid fines to collection agencies.

I wish we were as hard on actual criminals.

No way a city worker is going to enforce the masks anyway. The cops have been neutered. Imagine the response to a city worker trying to enforce the mask policy.

Im sorry, but we are doing nothing but prolonging the life of the virus.

    What’s next, mandatory vaccines?

Sh!t's going down hill fast, erasing history and losing a few rights is probably just the start.

If we lose rights were they ever actually rights to begin with?

It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

It's easy to not be afraid of tigers when you're sitting in your living room watching a television program about tigers. When you're in the jungle where the tigers are, it's quite a different story.

We’re not losing them, we’re literally handing them over.

Biden states that if he is president, he will go for a federal mandate on masks. What the holy fck. He wouldn’t take office until January. He is saying he’s will increase mask usage 6 months from NOW.

Guess what, people will vote for him on “that” promise alone. Frankly, people aren’t too smart. They think suspending their rights is a temporary measure. I pity the fools. HAhahahahaha.

On second thought, maybe I can support a lawless society.

Sure beats being locked up for deciding that it’s my body, my choice. We still subscribe to that “theory,” right.

    Maybe I’m just being pessimistic.

WA State went into the required status on Friday. Of course, the smart ass I am I just had to test the waters in my usual no mask attire. One trip into Walmart and one trip into the grocery store and nobody said a thing. Just the usual Bert stares from the pandemic porn addicts...

This is my thought too, right own time the dislike of wearing one even thought I do too!

I don’t get the whole hypoxia caused by masks though. I’ve had bronchitis so bad that when I went to Urgent Care, I had to stop to catch my breath 3-4 times to get to the entrance, then do the same to get from the door to the desk once inside the doors, then get told that if the treatment they were going to give me didn’t work, they were calling an ambulance to the hospital. What I’ve experienced while wearing a mask, it was nothing like the times I’ve had bronchitis related hypoxia.

You and some others keep missing the point, which makes me question your intelligence, even the so called experts say to ONLY wear a mask when SDing is not possible.

Every store I go to has distance marked lines and SD polices, hence no mask needed, unless you can’t control sneezing all over the place.

Some of us don’t need to get within inches of another’s face and started slobbering all over the face of people we interact with, and when I face granny a hug no germs are spread that way.

Yeah but with every day that passes we learn more about the virus and get closer to a viable treatment.

Preventing spikes in case numbers is still key.

That an illiterate and ineffectual racist drunk questions my intelligence, is not a big deal to me. I won't waste time quoting your stupidity about face coverings and the reality of the influenza virus, because everyone already knows that you're stupid.
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

Turns out, I might have been giving it too much thought.
