I don't even need to get on the interwebz, I have already almost passed out 3 times wearing the stupid mask. You are re-breathing your own CO2, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out you are getting less oxygen into your lungs. Also it's been 90 degrees this week, try standing in the sun trying to get into one of those stores that only let a few people in at a time, in the sun, with a mask on and let me know.

The good thing is that as soon as you get out of the SF Bay Area the rules relax by a lot. You basically wear a mask only if you want, nobody bothers you if you do, nobody bothers you if you don't. Now almost every weekend I jump in the car and go do my weekly full immersion in the world of the mentally sane. It's done wonders for my morale. I almost broke down in tears when I saw their gyms were open too. So jealous!!

I have low saliva ever since the throat cancer treatment, which makes me very prone to dry mouth. When wearing the mask (Mostly at the supermarket or Home Depot), I notice that the dry outside air is even dryer when I inhale. I spritz a little Biotene mouth spray before I leave the car, and I'm fine. I haven't had any breathing issues at all.

Some people don't handle the heat well. But that seems more like a heat problem than a mask problem. If it is, I'd try a different mask.

We had a day that was 94 but it only felt about 80 at highest and wasn’t bad.

Other days it may get to 89-90 and feels like ya gonna die.

Training in the heat helps, but still don’t wont do much to wearing a face covering in this heat.

I'm sure not recommending anybody train with a mask on. At that point, yeah, the CO2 does become an issue.

(But hey, isn't that the theory behind Blood Flow Restriction Training?) Still, I'm not sure why it should be a problem for a normal, healthy individual engaging in casual, non-strenuous activity.

I can understand why the heat itself would, for someone not acclimated to it.

Well, look at it this way. A "white person" who gets stopped by cops for not wearing a mask could simply say, "I identify as non-white, are you racially profiling me?" and walk away. If they hassle you, tell them they are risking a racial profiling lawsuit.

Got it -- that's completely understandable. It makes all you've accomplished in bodybuilding even more admirable.

I highly recommend that Biotene spray. It's been a godsend for me. When I first started using it, I was using a lot.

Exactly my situation. Also, the damn things fog my glasses. No matter what I try, my glasses fog up and I end up staggering around like a drunk.

Same, especially at the gym.

Otherwise I love wearing the mask since I'm ugly..but damn it's tough at the gym..can't see and can't breathe.

We have now a loudspeaker announcing everyone needs to wear a mask during the whole time while in building. Everyone's wearing a mask even while doing cardio. One of these days some poor soul will pass out at the treadmill. Probably me..rip.

My gym is open and as of yesterday, we have to wear a mask upon entry, but masks are not required while working out. Although, more people are working out with masks.

Our gym was like that first.

Then the governor ordered masks as mandatory, so now they are mandatory at all times. I still take it off while lifting and try to catch my breath between the sets but when I walk around I have it on.

Of course I'm a narcissist but I rather just show off my body, not my face...actually never mind..give me the burka..from now on I identify as an afghan woman.

I wear a mask. I can’t stand it but if everyone wears a mask it reduces the overall transmission of the virus. It might make the caseload go low enough that everything opens quicker, allowing the economy to get rolling again.
